Cop impersonator tries to pull over real cop
This one could go under the heading, "Stupid Crooks Stories:"
The guy pictured is accused of impersonating a cop, and of all things, falsely pulling over a motorist who turned out to be a real cop.
"That one-in-a-million scenario actually occurred over the weekend, Fairfax County police said yesterday, resulting in the arrest of a 19-year-old man at his Annandale home and relocation to the Fairfax jail with no bond and no court date for two months."

We've had our own cop impersonators:
In November, Glendale police arrested two men on suspicion of impersonating officers.
In one case a man pointed a replica handgun at people standing outside a 7-Eleven store at Montrose and La Crescenta avenues, said Glendale police Sgt. Tom Lorenz. Lowell Rottenberg, 28, of Glendale pulled up in a silver Mercedes-Benz equipped with flashing lights on the dashboard similar to those used by police, Lorenz said.
"He was wearing an FBI hat, and a (protective) vest and had a badge," Lorenz said. "He pulled out a replica handgun, dropped it and then picked it up and aimed it at the victims and ordered them over to his car."
Someone called police, and officers arrived and arrested Rottenberg without incident, Lorenz said.
Kenneth Vanorden, 47, of Los Angeles was arrested about 2:40 p.m. Wednesday in the 3400 block of Montrose Avenue, where he allegedly pulled over a vehicle and displayed a badge. The motorist called 911, Lorenz said.
Prior to this, a man and a woman were arrested in connection with impersonating sheriff's deputies and holding up mostly Latino immigrants on the streets for their cash.
