BOYS I HAVE BEEN GIVING THIS BASEBALL CONTEST A LOT OF THOUGHT AND I THINK I HAVE COME UP WITH THE PERFECT CONTEST FOR THE DEADBEATS WHO WANT ACTION.BOYS THIS WILL BE IDEAL IF WE CAN GET THE PLAYERS.

POST UP (400 DOLLARS) MAYBE BET JAMAICA WILL HELP US OUT.SINCE BASEBALL IS SUCH A LONG SEASON AND A LOT OF PEOPLE GO AWAY ON THE WEEKENDS I SUGGEST WE HAVE A LIMIT ON PLAYS AND YOU CAN BET ANY DAY MON TO SUN AS LONG AS YOU POST EXACTLY 15 PLAYS.

#1 (EACH PLAYER HAS TO MAKE 15 BETS PER WEEK NO MORE NO LESS)
#2 (NOBODY CAN BET A GAME THAT IS OVER -200 MONEY LINE)
#3 (ALL BETS MUST BE PLACED BEFORE THE FIRST GAME STARTS)
#4 (WE WILL USE BET JAMIACAS LINES)

BOYS I ALSO SUGGEST WE HAVE TWO WINNERS IN THE CONTEST BECAUSE WHO THE F-CK WANTS TO PLAY FOR MONTHS AND YOU HAVE NO CHANCE WITH MY CONTEST YOU GET TWO CHANCES TO WIN.

200 DOLLARS OUT OF THE 400 POST UP MONEY GOES TO THE FIRST HALF CONTEST WINNER. WHOEVER IS LEADING THE CONTEST AT THE ALLSTAR BREAK WINS THE FIRST HALF MONEY.THEN WE PALY THE 2ND HALF OF THE SEASON FOR THE REMAINING 200 DOLLARS THIS WAY YOU HAVE TWO CHANCES TO WIN.

Thanks for the suggestions BTJ, I think most RXers will go crazy if they cannot play on weekends in the baseball contest considering how many games there are.

Normally we require a minimum number of plays with no maximum, this way, if someone is the type of person to go away on the week-ends alot they can still make most of their plays during the week.

Traditionally Monday and Thursday are the quietest days in the MLB so last year those were the two days off.

I see no reason to limit anyone to -200 fav's, heck if someone wants to play -300 fav's, all the power to them I say.

Actually, I think we can get close to 40, if I start the contest 1 month after the MLB regular season starts, last year we got mid 30.

This year I got 15 people @ 400$ a shot to join the NHL contest.

Remeber, betjam adds a 20% sweetner which makes the contest a +ev contest.

My focus right now is on getting some march madness contests out there, as baseball is still a way's away, however I will have something announced soon.

NO I WANT THE CUT OFF AT -200 TO MANY CHAULK CHASERS PICKING THE EASY GAMES TRYING TO PAD THERE NUMBERS WITH BIG FAVORITES.

-200 IS THE CUT OFF THIS I LIKE A LOT.IT WILL SHOW THE REAL HANDICAPPERS NOT THE CHAULK CHASERS

Ive run dozens, maybe even hundreds of contests on this site, TRUST ME, chalk chasers WILL NOT win.... Also there are very few games over -200 these days in baseball anyway.....

Making a "specific" amount of games per week is too complicated, some people go on 2 or 3 week holidays, and will not be able to make weekly requirments.

The easiest way is to have a total amount of plays (example = 200) and state that people must have a minimum of 200 plays, but with no maximum.

What seems successful at other sites, is a contest with a shorter term ( weekly or monthly).

Say a monthly one for bases with a minimum number of plays ( 60 ?).

Pay 3 places... 5-3-2.

Require the winners to make a deposit once they win the month ( $100 or so), to claim the prize. Works pretty good, at least with a small field. Prize needs to be larger here than other places since we would get more guys in, but thats good for the book,too !

Post up money and have it to bet with works too, avoids the Lazer Carlo contest mistake of a total free shot. Even if you made it a 20X rollover, it would be OK, gives the book a nice shot to win it, and the player gets a shot to cash without winning the contest.

A book could probably be talked into that 20X deal before a W/D.

HEY SPORTS SAVANT DONT GET FLIP WITH ME OR I WILL GIVE YOU A BACKHANDER GOT IT PAL.I STILL LIKE -200 AND YOU ARE NUTS SPORTS SAVANT THIS YEAR THE METS WILL BE -300 ALMOST EVERY OTHER DAY WITH PEDRO AND SANTANA YOU HAVE TO LIMIT THE NUMBER.

WHAT IS SO HARD ABOUT SAYING -200 IS THE LIMIT IT SOUNDS EASY TO ME.

(HALF THE METS GAMES THIS YEAR THEY WILL BE AT LEAST -240) THERE ARE SOME REALLY BAD TEAMS.

Do u remember the WSEX contest last year? it was a monthly Baseball handicapping contest, I am trying to get them to approve the same one for this year.

I felt the need to limit dogs at -900 in the monthly NCAAF foots contest, becoz it was getting ridiculous with contestents taking all favs of -2500 or more.

In baseball however, it is completely unnecessarry, despite what our friend BTJ thinks.

In fact, i welcome any contestents to take the mets with Santana or Pedro every game.

but the part you are missing BTJ is that the fools that choose to take -300 or more, will LOSE and will LOSE BIG, this means that the rest of us have a better chance of winning.

I'd bet Tony at 5D would free the funds, say deposit $400 requires 8k in action to withdraw ( lower of risk/ profit for calculations), payout 2k a month in FP.

I'd bet I could talk him into that, estimating at least 50 deposit. ( 20k in deposits), maybe 16k awarded in FP. Book gets people to see their good lines.

agree with SS, big chalk in bases loses period. One contest problem is those behind get forced to take big ML dogs.

BTJ is entitled to his opinion, it just doesn't mean what he thinks is the best way is also what the majority would prefer.

I like my proposal, doesn't mean the majority will.

SS runs contests as well as anyone.

If you would lay -300 on Pedro and the Mets in a contest this year then you will be in last place. Pedro is not Pedro anymore.
