Is WSEX slow paying getting worse?

I requested a $1000 check from my account at WSEX on 2/17/08 and that amount was deducted the same day. It has been 36 days and I have yet to receive payment. My initial e-mail was answered with a stock boiler plate reply citing payment processor difficulties. The 2nd inquiry was not even answered. Other top tier books such as 5 Dimes, Greek, Bet Jam, etc. have managed to find a way to pay on a timely basis. I have had an account at WSEX for many years and am somewhat less than ecstatic about their new delay program. Are there others out there experiencing the same problems?

I requested a check sent by regular mail. I am aware of ther disclaimer stating "mail may take up to 20 business days for delivery". They also recently increased the charge for courier mail from $35 to $50.

No. They never said they sent the check - only that they were having payment processor problems.

Hmm. Your mileage may vary, as they say.

Mentioned in the other thread, I have the same problem. Requested two payments (1/18 and 1/21) by mail. Nothing yet. The only other w/d I did was a book to book to Matchbook - that went fast (imagine that).

WSEX is the last book you have to worry about getting paid. Their as solid as can be.

Regular mail checks take forever. Bottom line.

If you chose to have it sent regular mail then this one is on you. Never had a problem getting paid by WSEX.

WSEX is solid but 1 week to get paid via Fedex is weak.

Airmail isn't that slow. I'm going into my sixth week here. I expect to get paid, I'm not worried about that - but this delay is ridiculous.

36 days for regular mail delivery is a joke. They are clearly holding the funds before cutting the check and placing it in the mail. While I believe they are a solid book, holding funds and slow paying winners is bullshit. I haven't posted up with WSEX for probably a year now because of this.

Time to move past the neteller/instadebit funding issues.

I asked about my second w/d by check about 4 weeks after it was made. They responded that they'd have to get in touch with the processor to get the status. It's not the delivery system that's the problem here - the funds are being held an inordinately long time before cutting a check.

one week for a federal express envelope (at 50 dollars) is inexcusable
one month for a regular mail withdrawal just as inexcusable

are processors experiencing trouble when you attempt to make your deposit? of course not.

personally, id never withdraw regular mail. too much ambiguity and uncertainty. but 30+ days is laughable.

and there is not a destination in the world that federal express does not deliver to for $40 at most, and in 2-3 days no less.

wsex should be better than this. very good book but no need for this kind of wait.

I don't understand why those of you who want to get paid quickly don't deal with Carib. The charge you a $55 Fedex fee and you get your money the NEXT DAY! Is that loud and clear. Oh! By the way they are an A+ book with GREAT customer service.

Guys-
I have read your responses to my thread and here is my assessment. There is a serious problem with WSEX and their inability to make payouts on a timely basis. I sent the e-mail as documented below a few days ago and was not even afforded the courtesy of a response:

I requested a payout of $1000 on 1/17/08 and that amount was immediately deducted from my account. That was 35 days ago (23 days after deducting weekends and holidays). While I understand that you might be having trouble with your payment processor, I feel that taking this amount of time is excessive and does violate the parameters of the disclosure on your website stating "Regular mail may take up to 20 days for delivery". Please let me know when I can expect payment. No "canned responses" please. Thank you.

At what point does WSEX get a free pass because of their past record of being a top tier book and paying on time? Are here other problems that we do not know about? Their lack of communication and failure to answer my e-mail does make me uneasy. I handle all elements of my business honorally and the only thing I ask in return is to be paid on a timely basis when, on rare occasion, I do win. Compared with Bet Jamaica, Greek and 5 Dimes where I also have accounts, 37 days and waiting does seem excessive.
