To keep the soon to be wife happy I have promised a nite or two a week of movies, "Movie Nite". Which I dont mind and actually enjoy myself.

Yesterday a local sports radio talk show was asking callers to call in and give their favorite movies that most people may have not seen. I jotted some of them down because her and I cant EVER decide on a movie. Some of the ovies they mentioned I have seen but here is the list of the one's I never seen.

Please give me any comments on any of these.
Highlander
King Of Hearts
Judgement Nite
The Edge
Slow Burn
Boondock Saints (mentioned the most, by 3 differnet callers)
Heat (meant to watch about 5 times in my life but never have)
Perfume
Solider Story (my buddy the movie freak says this was his choice off list)
The Prestige
Dark City
The Insider
Ronin
A Time to Kill
Dog Day Afternoon

If anyone wants to add one that is also cool. The only time I usually watch a movie is when somone I know reccomends it or unless it is a sport movie. This usually ends up being a good move as most people know a good movie when they see it and I usally agree with them. So I thought maybe I could get some opinions from the above list because I dont know where to start. Thanks!!!

* I will add one to the mix I just watched as my reccomendation as being pretty good, Gone Baby Gone. I thought this was a solid movie and would eaily reccomend it someone to watch.

I watch quite a few movies.. I wouldn't recommend getting netflix and DVD-burners and copying the discs because thats a violation of federal law.. but check out www.imdb.com has pretty much every movie, actors, upcoming movie releases etc.

FYI.. movies come out on Tuesdays.. but if you make friends with the people at blockbuster they get them several days in advance =0)

And if the Road Warrior says it, it must be true..

The Prestige is one of my favorites. After you see it once, you will want to watch it again. Great movie.

Just saw Inside Man again on TV here. Highly recommend that movie.

I'll help u out Iceman. These are the ones I've seen:

Highlander - early 90s (i think) flick about sword fighting Scottish immortals who must chop off the head of their defeated opponents in order to become and remain "the one" dominant immortal. I don't recommend this one, the movie even at that time in the early 90s was boring to me. Today, the little special effects will look outdated and I don't see u as the type to enjoy swordfighting immortals

Judgement Night - I can almost guarantee you'll dig this one. It's been awhile since I've seen this, but I remember Cuba Gooding Jr., Jeremy Pivens, and Emilio Esteves being in this. Solid flick about a group of grown buddies who initially planned to go to a big time boxing match, only to take a detour in traffic which leads them to the wrong neighbor and get caught up in some shit. Good flick.

The Edge - People actually named this their favorite movie? It wasn't too bad for me, but i don't know about it being on "favorite movies" lists. But hey, this was a sports radio show u got this from. I don't remember too much about it, but it stars Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin. If u like outdoors stuff u might dig it. Two men get lost in what looked to be like Yosemite Park and they play predator and prey with a vicious grizzly bear.

Boondock Saints - Ok, many i know love this film as well, but while i enjoyed it i thought it was overrated. I liked William Defoe's performance more than anything here playing the fruity cop. It's about two Irish-Catholic brothers in NY who take vigilante justice into their own hands to go against the mob as they believe they're doing God's work.

Heat - alright, if u wanna call yourself a man, it's an absolute must u see this flick. One of the best bank robbery films ever. But it's about more than robbing banks. Go see this now.

The Prestige - Interesting film with a lot of twists and turns. It's about two bitter rivalry magicians in the 19th century who will stop at nothing to one-up each other. Good movie to watch with a female outta the ones so far.

Dark City - Great film, but although I don't wanna prejudge your character just based off of what u post in the forums here, I'm not sure if you'll dig this one. I don't even know how to explain this film but it was a great film. Definitely give it a shot.

The Insider - Another great Michael Mann film. Russell Crowe plays a whistle-blowing research scientist who works for a large tobacco corporation. Al Pacino plays the CBS news journalist who gets the scientist's story.

Ronin - Again, another film u absolutely must see.

Dog Day Afternoon - Great flick from the 70s. Michael and Fredo Corleone reunite here to rob a bank and hold people hostage.

Why did I go for two? They wouldn't let me go for

I personally thought Dog Day Afternoon stunk. Was way too slow on developing the plot and made me want to sleep.

Those are all guys movies. You are going to have to pick some pussy chick flicks to keep your girl happy. You knew that when you signed on for RP.
I suggest you go to imbd or afi and find some movies that will be a happy medium. I'm sure your girlfriend is really looking forward to "Boondock Saints", lmao.

I love vigilante movies. However, avoid Boondock Saints at all costs. That is the best advice I can give you regarding the list.
