Does anybody know if Carl's Jr chilli still tastes like shit? I tried it a couple of years back and it as pretty bad. I am hoping the changed up the recipe some because those chilli cheese fries look pretty good from the picture.

Have you eaten at The Hat ? It's on the corner of State College and Imperial - behind the gas station.

The pastrami is the best I have ever had - by a mile - and the chili fires are top notch as well.

I have eaten at the Hat in Lake Forest by my job. The lines for lunch are a mile long. The Pastrami is great. They give you so much meat that you can make another sandwich after you are done eating. The Chili fies are good too but they give you so much. I think I might drop into there next week and get a sandwich and ask for an extra roll.

I make do with Weinershnitzel chili cheese fries or I just warm up a can of Stagg Chili and pour it over some microwaved tater tots.

I second Tommys ! One of the few foods I miss out here on the East Coast.

Not that fake 'Tomy's' either, the real Tommy's in Long Beach, yum.

Addict101 was asking what he should do when at the pac10 tourney and I suggested to do Westwood and eat at Tommy Burger while in Westwood.

The real Tommys to me is off Rampart. Tradition to stop by after a Dodger game. Good times.

I had a Tommy burger once at the Hollywood location and it was the worse thing I ever tasted. No meat in the chili just a lump of grease. That was 10 years ago and I have never tried one since.

Hollywood location sucks. Most of the locations suck, the best Tommy's is the original on Rampart and Beverly. The one in Eagle Rock is almost as good. All the others I've tried suck especially the one on Hollywood Blvd off the 101.

The desserts are my fav part..

That place is definitely one of a kind.

I think I could live off of it, The Pantry, The Regent Chinese (across from Phillipes, and Tommys Burger.
