It is a great movie by the way. I am glad to have this in my DVD library.

Who here on the RX thinks they survived and who thinks they drowned or became shark food.

Love this movie. Even my dumb ass X who was 19 at the time payed attention. It kicks ass.

There are rumors Frank Morris is alive and has been spotted in South Africa. There is no way some make shift raft makes it over those cold wavey waters.

Alcatraz is more crazy than anything you have heard of.

I watched a special on National Geographic and this guy being interviewed was talking about being put into a small contaiment cell that had no light what so ever. He said he would pull a button off his shirt toss it on the ground and than get on his hands and knees and try to find it. And he would do that over and over until he was too tired to do it anymore. Eventually he would go to sleep but he did that day after day to pass the time.

Then they have some dungeon section all the way at the bottom of the prison that is even worse than that which eventually was outlawed from being used.

Mythbusters took on this scenario in one of their shows. They built a life raft out of rubber coats using materials available to the inmates at the time. They also used plans and what little evidence was collected by the FBI during the investigation afterwards. Then, took the raft to Alcatraz and tried to make it ashore. They successfully made it and ended up very near the Golden Gate Bridge.

They concluded it was plausible.

I saw that episode. It's very possible Morris and them made it. It's really not even that far some teenage kid swam it.

Clint Eastwood wouldn't take any shit off some podunk bay shark.

HaHa...I think if Clint was surrounded bye some 15-20 foot sharks, he'd shit his pants and panic like no other...Eastwood is the man, but when some savage ass sharks are feeding, GameOver!

If you have a chance to visit the island, I would recommend doing so. I spent some time on Alcatraz last summer and thought the tour was excellent.
