Bank projects oil will hit $150 by year's end

ABU DHABI — The price of crude oil was expected to skyrocket to $150 per barrels over the next few months.
An analysis by Saxo Bank said the price of oil would continue to rise sharply in 2008. The analysis said inflation as well as growing demand would fuel the rise in global prices.

Saxo, the specialized investment bank headquartered in Denmark, said gold would hit $1,000 per ounce as the price of all precious commodities would rise. The analysis linked the movement of oil and gold.

not much of a stretch on Gold, since it is about $960 now.

$150 oil would be very bad.

Silver near $20 an ounce. Silver dollars trade higher than melt.

Silver and Gold are NOT at all time highs when you factor in Inflation, Neither is the price of gas at the pump, that was in 1980/81.

though we are getting close..

Silver isn't close, it was near $50 circa 1980. It is much higher than it has been anytime since 1980. It was around $6-8 for a long time.

Might be a pullback at some point.

perhaps. There is a lot of it around that people will part with for a high price, as 1980 showed. Most all of it ever mined is around in some form of coinage, jewelry, silverware, etc.

It used to get consumed in photographic uses.

Gas prices are going to continue to rise. There's no end in sight. We'll yearn for the good ole days when it was $3 a gallon

Is Bush for real?!

Analysts have said that gasoline could reach $4 a gallon by this spring, due to strong demand and a change in formulation, among other reasons.
When taking the question about the $4 milestone, Bush told the reporter, "That's interesting. I hadn't heard that."
In other areas of energy policy, the president repeated his support for both renewable sources and conservation.
Bush also criticized Congress, which is considering an $18 billion tax increase for large oil companies.
"All that's going to do is make the price even higher," he said. "We ought to be encouraging investment in oil and gas close to home if we're trying to mitigate the problems we face."
