The Oakland Raiders just resigned their DT Tommy Kelley to a 7 year $50 million deal. I pride myself on knowing NFL personel pretty good, and i have to admit i dont have a clue who he is. Not counting the fact that he is coming back from a torn ACL. To make a no named guy the NFL highest paid DT, who is coming back from an ACL injury, is absolutely retarted. Hey Raider fan how you like that colossal waste of money? I think Al Davis is back on the morphine again.

The way they do the contracts these days you cant really go by the 50 Mill part or the 7 yrs. he probably gets a nice bonus upfront of 4-8 million then the rest is yr by yr with incentives out the ass..
To get the whole 50 million he probably has to have 12 td passes, return 2 kickoffs for touchdowns and capture bin laden...

After digging into this a little bit, i realized he had a pretty good 2006 and 2007 he was hurt. Its a pretty weak 2008 DT free agent class, and i guess the market dictates the price. I guess Justin Smith has to be ecstatic with this signing, as his asking price just went up. I still think its shaky to spend so much on a pretty untested guy who is coming off an injury.

As a Raiders fan. I think Kelly is a stud but coming off a ACL injury and being the highest paid DT just dont make sense. If any1 Burgess deserved the deal. Im in shick at this deal I dont get it.

And ticket prices/concessions/parking/cable bills continue to rise. But hey, at least Tommy Kelly's children never have to worry. Money well spent
