they are completely different players... as a mavs fan i liked harris, but i think kidd gives them a better chance to win a ring

The Mavs aren't winning jack! They don't have a lost post player and Kidd doesn't shoot well enough from the outside.

This team had its window and it will close at the end of next season.

it'll be tough coming out of the west, but they have a chance. kidd can shoot it ok from 3, but that's not why they brought him in anyway. i am concerned with the lack of depth behind damp, hopefully bass will play well down the stretch. they'll be a very tough out for someone imo, as a fan i'm hoping they can win it all.

I agree the Suns and the Mavs went trade happy cause of the lakers.

i don't think either can say as of now that they improved....

....but you can't blame them cause before the trade, you knew they had little chance at the championship....

Don't really agree there either... i don't think harris was going to lead them to a ring, at least they took a chance and are going after one... that's all you can really ask for as a fan

I agree with what you are saying, but with Kidd being older, you keep Harris, Howard, Dirk and then try to fill in the pieces.

The reality is that it isn't a bad trade, but they are attempting to win it all, I just don't see it happening. Harris is at best a number 3 player, but in Dallas behind Dirk and J Ho, i thought that would have worked out well.

yeah it's really a tough one to call... listening to talk shows out of dallas it sounded like it was pretty much a split on whether or not people liked the trade. let's just hope they don't see those damn warriors in the playoffs this year! :toast:

Last I checked he was under or right at 30% from there for the season. Fuck. That's terrible.
Edit: 35%from 3 and 37% from the field for the season. He blows. Worst shooting guard in the league?

wrong, 36 percent from 3, right around the league average... like i said before, they didn't bring him in to shoot, their are other intangibles he brings that will lead to w's, they have scorers on the team... i don't know what to tell you if you can't figure that out
