One thing to consider is that alot of the Royals' players have the flu right now.

Shawn Estes, the No. 2 starting pitcher for the Padres the last time he pitched for them, will face the Royals today in the club's Cactus League opener at Peoria Stadium. Estes had reconstructive elbow surgery in June 2006. He pitched in Triple-A last summer and had a few physical setbacks. He said he is pleased with how is arm has responded in the offseason and spring training.

Callix Crabbe DH
Tadahito Iguchi 2B
Jim Edmonds CF
Tony Clark 1B
Khalil Greene SS
Michael Barrett C

The Brewers are still using the DH, playing an AL team. One thing to look for today is the spring unveiling of new closer Eric Gagne, who is scheduled to work the eighth inning.

When the Brewers play Oakland again today, relievers Derrick Turnbow and Eric Gagne are scheduled for an inning each. Left-hander Manny Parra is also expected to pitch.

Eric Chavez is out for the A's for the next 5 days or so.

A's have a flu bug going around as well...

Lefty Dallas Braden is due to start for Oakland.

Mike Sweeney playing today, his brother Mark may play.
