Astros owner will honor Clemens personal services contract

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (AP) - Houston Astros owner Drayton McLane today said he'll honor a 10-year personal services contract with embattled ace Roger Clemens.
The FBI is investigating whether the star pitcher lied under oath -- to Congress -- with his denials of steroid use.
The contract kicks in after Clemens officially retires.
Clemens has been throwing batting practice to minor leaguers at spring training in Florida since Wednesday. McLane says Clemens is doing it voluntarily -- at no pay.
His son -- minor league catcher Koby Clemens -- says his father flew home to Houston today to attend a baseball tournament in which his younger brothers were playing.
Koby said his father will return to Florida, but he didn't know when.
McLane says he'll meet with general manager Ed Wade and president of baseball operations Tal Smith to evaluate whether they want Roger Clemens to continue with the minor leaguers.
