Which would you rather be? Tons of headaches if you want to be a book, but profitable...lots of ups and downs as a player....can you do both? My opinon is that if you are a bookmaker, you can still gamble, but keep your opinons out of your book....

Everybody thinks Bookmaking is easy but there's a fine line between profitable bookmaking and being a losing Bettor where someone else is making your selections. Most people wouldnt have the patience to be a Bookmaker as its fairly monotonous stuff most of the time, its hard to get excited when youve laid 120 games on a saturday. :drink:

I would rather make $50,000 a year as a player than $500,000 as a bookmaker.........but that's just me.

Monotonous? Having enough volume on 120 games, where you only need to win 30% of the decisions to break even. :drink:

In reality both. You just have to be sharp about what you are doing and not have an opinion on games, just your money.

If I had to choose only one, PLAYER.

I would say trade rather than bet. Thanks for the winners the other night, paid for Sundays Beer. :drink:

You deserved it. And if you have time to check the stickball on ice forum,
i'm sure you can stock up for the spring. But my guess is you have a
plate full of more profitable investments. Trading/stock market? Inrunning
with Betfair? :drink:

My opinoin is that if you were talking about as a sole income or way to support ur family it would have to be booking. Squirrels only and much smaller time than you could afford. Just to eliminate as much stress and as many big swings as possible. You could book 25 good solid players and never really worry about anything.

If you were choosing one as a hobby and already had an income I may lean more toward bettor. You can take a day off if need be. You can work more your own schedule rather than have ur schedule dictated by the worlds sporting events.
