Why was the airport even allowing the plane to attempt to land with those kind of conditions?

"Airline spokesman Wolfgang Weber said the plane was rocked by wind clocked at 155 mph as it tried to land."

Seriously.....W-T-F? Do you have any idea how few of us have any idea what a 155mph wind gust is? I sure as hell have never experienced one.

That's freaking insane. There had to have been damage from hell in that town.

After the second, and successful attempt to land, I wouldn't know what to do, praise the pilots or tell the f'ers' where to get off.

I can't even imagine the 2nd approach. I can't even imagine they tried it if there was really a 155 wind gust.

As an airplane is about to crash, a female passenger jumps up frantically and announces, "If I'm going to die, I want to die feeling like a woman."

She removes all her clothing and asks, "Is there someone on this plane who is man enough to make me feel like a woman?"

A man stands up, removes his shirt and says, "Here, iron this!".

They are saying that the pilot should've used better judgement, that it was his call to land knowing the wind speed (ATC's or people in the towers?, just tell him the conditions), and a good pilot would've not tried to land at that time.

Have you people just started learning the Internets? Do you not know how to search?

I used to work for McDonnell Douglas Law Department (before Boeing bought them out). Even though there were no reported injuries there will be lawsuits.
