Take a look around at the sports gambling forums and see what they're talking about. Sure isn't about sports gambling anymore. Before if something was OT (off topic) it would be marked as such. Nowadays EVERYTHING is off topic.

Just read down the listing of topics out there. Sure isn't about the Rockets trying to win 17 straight.

forums do not seem as active as they have in the past. But I think with regulation that would all change. I think the sports market is just becoming more efficient with setting lines. Plus with how public these are, many will not talk openly as they have in the past. Add a large influx of action or people playing and these will blow up again. I still think that almost all the forums are very active during football season. The idea of a gambler is becoming less and less negative. I hear sportscasters every so often talk about some new angle they learned on one of these sports forums and what the gambling forums are buzzing about. I would say no they are not, but I am generally pretty optimistic about the future of online gambling.

There has to be a balance between sports and off topics. I mean do you really come here to see that a poster has picked the nets +4 and some guy has a new surefire system?

If you sift through the forums there is plenty of good gambling discussion, but you need other topics to keep the interest as well

This always happens after the foots season ends.

Exactly.

Plus, we have alot of good sports talk in the sports forums. Offshore is mostly about sports but we talk about alot of OT stuff as well. It's still 100 times better than other forums.

We are merely a lobby. There is plenty of sports information in the other threads. OS is the misc room and sometimes the rubber room prep area

I sure wish we could get back to the "old days" before BoS and NETeller went down. The offshore world was a whole different place.

you do have a point... but I think the MAIN forums of these types of sites seem to be where the drama/ OT threads takes place...I would guess there are a ton of posters that post ONLY in the specific forum for the sport they betlike NBA,NFL etc and and do not even step foot in the main forum due to the drama and off topic threads that come up alot... and then you have many posters that just post in the MAIN forums of these sites just for the OT and drama threads and never bet at all... Its a community chat to them..

to each there own

to answer the question of the thread: YES.

i started a forum a couple of years ago to show people how to play with an edge on the premise that myself and my business partner (if you will) could make money per head and thusly help players become winners and also gain ourselves.

it worked brilliantly and players made thousands whether it be casinos, poker, or sportsbetting... and then intercasino went down, 888, party poker, NETELLER and the days of easy money went away.

places like the rx were able to survive on pure traffic though i am sure in the new weaker environment they had to make some deals they may not have been thrilled with... but smaller joints like mine became charity hobbies where the only way to make money was to find losers and funnel them into books and casinos.

Then there would be NO offshore.

It's like legalizing drugs, THE CORNER DRUG dealer would go belly-up, the real TRUSTED brick and mortars takeover IMO.
