Going there in a week for business. Any hotel advice? Was looking at Glidden House or the Wyndam.

Any good food joints? Italian? Need to impress a client on a Friday night, no steak

I know their are quite a few Ohio guys on here so any info would be great. Thanks.

I went to a restaurant called Hyde Park while there a few years ago and was extremely disappointed. The restaurant was nearly empty and the service was something I would expect at Denny's.
The wait staff had little knowledge of the menu and made untimely visits adding to my annoyance. The filet I had was not cooked to my preference (over-cooked).

On another note, I attended a nice place called Diamond Cabaret that was pretty fun. :103631605

PBR knows a couple of flop houses for sure...

Very true VD...unfortunately I'm not welcome back .

I'm about an hour south of Cleveland, but I know that Ibetonsports and a few others are from Cleveland. Hopefully one of those guys will see this and help out.

I've eaten at the Bucca Di Beppo restaurant on the east side (there are 3 in Cleveland). It's pretty classy with a nice ambiance, imo.

Bad time to come into Cleveland. We just had a water main break that collapsed a huge chunk of one of our main streets. It is a disaster doing anything downtown right now. If you are looking for italian, little italy is where you should go. It is about 5 miles east from downtown.

Ah, my old stomping grounds...I still try to go back to one Browns game every year.

IBS is right though...if everything about the street collapse is as bad as I think, then downtown Cleveland has to be completely insane right now. Had it not been for that, I'd have suggested going to a place called Mallorca on W. 9th St...it's a Brazilian place, but not a churascaria (sp?). You can get a really good seafood selection if that's your thing...

Otherwise, if you have time to trek a little bit south of Cleveland (15 miles or so), a place called Don's Pomeroy House in Strongsville is well worth the trip. If I was still in Cleveland and wanted to impress someone, that'd be my first choice (although it's not cheap, you'd need to dress business casual at the very least, and I think you need reservations). It's about a mile off the 71 freeway though, very easy to find, and Cleveland traffic isn't nearly as bad as other major cities...so the whole trip shouldn't even take 30 mins.

westlake is the area you want.
blakes is one of the better seafood places.
cabin club is probably one of the best kept secrets in the area.
its all accessible to 1-90 within seconds.
pier w is also very nice waterfront dining.
mallorca, as mentioned, is one of the best downtown.

I really like this Italian Restaurant about 20 minutes south of Downtown Cleveland

http://www.dagneses.com/itWEBhome.htm

The mini rack of lamb appetizer is Phenomenal, and every dish on the menu that I have had has been fantastic. I like the Herb Crusted Chicken with goat cheese myself.

Valerio's in Little Italy is a good choice as well, but is a bit more pricey than Diagnisi's.

If you like sushi, I would check out a place called Tomo in Strongsville Ohio about 30 mins south of cleveland.

Slyman's is great if you are going to lunch as well. You can dine in until 2:00 P.M. They have the biggest and best corned beef sandwich I have ever had. The neighborhood where it is located isn't the greatest, but alot of Police hang out around there so it's very safe. I go there about once a week myself. President Bush had lunch there about 6-8 months ago while visting Ohio.
