Once they "sell" it to the collection company-it's usually entirely out of their hands.
I have a really funny story from about a year ago regarding some collection agency BITCH coming after me for $37 over some shit that I supposedly owed an apartment complex that I had lived at SIX YEARS before then.
It was comical. This scathing gash calls me at work(same job & phone # I've had for over 9 years) acting like she just busted a bank robber and was going to ruin my life.
I told her repeatedly that I'd pay it right now if they took it off my credit report, and this bitch said no way. I put in a complaint to the state agency that oversees collection agencies & they didn't do crap.
Stupidest shit I've ever been through. Only "red mark" on my entire credit report & it shows up out of nowhere 6 years after I moved out of this place? Shit, the complex had my new address. To top it off, the place had been sold, so there was apparently no record that they could come up with to show me what I supposedly owed them for.
After all that, it passed some 7 year limit & dropped off my credit report.
I hope that bitch dies a slow, painful death-I've never dealt with anyone so uncooperative(to say the least) in my entire life.
I could go on & on about this debacle. Owned a house for 4+ years & getting tormented by some condescending collection agency bitch who pulled some six year old $37 debt out of her ass? Fuck....this still pisses me off. I wish I had recordings of the conversations with this fucking bitch-it was unbelievable.
