And no it is not that the Rockets have now won 17 games in a row and 21 out of 22 games. It is not that the Rocket have won 11 road games in a row.

But check out this amazing stat..........................

-In the Rockets last 10 games in which they won by an average margin of around 18 points, they have only been losing from the start of the second quarter until the end of the each game for a total of 2 MINUTES!!! Again that is a total of 2 minutes behind in the last 10 games after the first quarter!

Rafer "skip to my lou" Alston is the key to this winning streak! He is playing great right now!

scola, landry, rafer, tmac, deke, hell even Yao are the key to this streak.

never have they been this fun to watch and if i had to give one guy credit it would be rafer.

i love how no one outside of HTOWN knew this could happen... hell no one knew it was happening till win 11 or 12.

if you are the coach of a team in the western conference you do not want anything to do with houston in the first round.

Scola is playing great as well.

Because Scola and Rafer are playing great, now Carl Landry is left wide open for dunks left and right! Landry is only shooting around 67% from the floor

I'd like to see SA/GS, LA/Dallas and Houston/Suns

The only teams that matter out west are SA, LA and Dallas - sorry, Houston, in the playoffs with no Yao ain't going to work.

I would love to see Houston in the first round if I was a coach.

A team that hasn't won a playoff series in a decade and that's missing their best player? Sign me up if I'm one of the other seven teams.

If the playoffs started tomorrow you may have a point, but this team will not seem nearly so scary in six weeks.

Portland won 16 of 17 at one point, don't forget. It's a long season. Streaks happen.

Dallas isnt worth a shit either. They have allowed their opponents to score over 100 points their last 4 games.

Mcgrady and Alston are starting to play old school street ball. Without Ming clogging up the middle those two can really make things exciting. Rockets are a whole different team without Ming. However, probaby not for the better in the long run. Let's not forget Mcgrady is a known choker in the playoffs. A choker in the win category that is.- (6 first round losses in 11 years in the league)

So while Houston is dazzling and delighting fans in the league alike, don't be surprised for them to fizzle come the month of May. Mcgrady and Alston, and Shane Battier will only take them so far. Streaks do happen, and Houston is having a hell of a one. But whose kidding who? in the talent loaded West in the long haul, the Rockets are just an o.k. nightclub act. who may have sold out a few shows.( 17 to be exact._)

It costs alot more than $20 to see an NBA game. Well I guess that you can get the shitty nosebleed tickets behind the baskets, but you would be better off watching on TV than sitting in those seats.

To sit in seats that are better than watching it on TV would cost you around $100 a ticket or more. Without sitting in those seats, you might as well enjoy the game on FSN

Maybe, maybe not.

One thing for sure...By the time they play this final month with non-Yao lineup they should have their defensive scheme fully back in balance which means their playoff games will come in solid below 180 five games out of six.

I dropped a big $20 on Rockets to win NBA about two weeks before Yao went down (30 to 1) and it at least gives me a bit of space to hedge immediately in first round.

PO69, I like this Houston team. I actually picked them not to make the playoffs in that last poll, but I think these guys are growing on me. I like their tempo, their shooters are hitting their shots. They are playing good defense as well. I would not want to play this hot Houston team right now who is not missing a beat so far without Yao.

Well of course I wouldnt want to double the offer at those odds. My correct odds for that wager now would be closer to 30:1.

I already have near $1500 on the Rockets to win the NBA at 32:1. Of course I made that wager when the Yao was still playing.

I am going to win $400 from Choptalk as New Orleans is one and done guaranteed

hell yes. sounds like we need a houston bash... maxdemo excluded.

as far as you loving to see houston (whoever the moron is that said that) keep the blinders on. if we get matched up with the suns it is all over with.

well then i guess every team in the NBA would like to be slowed down. please don't start with the garbage that houst is better without YAO.

Well not having Yao clogging up the middle has helped McGrady and Rafer with penetration. NO ONE works harder than Carl Landry! The guy is a beast and would knock his own Mom to the court for just one rebound.

Are they better off without Yao??? Maybe not, but they sure have NEVER won a playoff series with Yao in the lineup! Maybe it was YAO that was holding the Rockets back from winning a playoff series
