They offer some weird numbers for H2 of NBA, often a point or more off of other places.

I want H2 of Phil/Milw over. MB puts the number up before Pinny. They hang 101. I'm not sure on the number so I offer under 101 at -200 for $200. I check Pinny to get a better feel for it ( I do this often), then adjust my offer to a realistic number.

In that time somebody laid $100 to win $50 on my -200 number. I just put it up to start, easier to adjust the odds once its there.

Am I a bad guy to do this, I don't expect a taker, and adjust it once I see Pinny odds ? I just can't start it without knowing how far off the MB line is. I'm not really trying to trap a guy, but I feel kind of bad about it. I do change it as soon as I get the real line. Pinny had it at 100, with under -120 to start.

This is what the fill looks like when I get the whole $200

<table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr class="evenrow"><td>Philadelphia at Milwaukee</td><td>Total</td><td>Over 101.0 (PHI/MIL) 2H</td><td align="right">+147</td><td align="right">200.00</td><td style="color: green;" align="right">294.09</td></tr></tbody></table>

No, but I'm going to have to try that....

first time somebody took it, here.

Its almost like every halftime line is an alternate line at MB. I think it hurts volume to not set the line close to what would be -110 both ways at CRIS or WSEX.

So you offered under 101/-200 when the professionals were opening under 101/-140.

I don't think its unethical and there are no bad lines on exchanges since they won't be cancelled. Anyone who plays on exchanges should caveat emptor.

One sees far more outrageous things on Betfair where the naive may be trapped.

I can't offer -110 because the number might be off 1.5 points, I have to see a standard line before I can make a legit offer.

A few weeks ago there was a college basketball game on and one team was covering the spread pretty big. Team A was +450 and Team B was -550 or something along those lines. Suddenly someone offered Team B +650 by mistake (meant -650 I'm sure) and I did a double take and then quick tried to grab it. The double take cost me as it either was taken down by the guy who offered it or someone else grabbed it first before I could get it, but you can bet your ass I would not have felt guilty in the least had I been able to get a piece of it.

halftimes and live aren't the same thing as offering -200 on both sides overnite, for sure.

Not always true Woody. I found a bad line at MB. Was +7 when it should have been -7. I took it and then went for a middle. Right before game time I get an email saying the bet was cancelled and it cost me quite a bit to buy out of the other side. Evidently, if you or I make a bet at MB we have to live with it. If one of their linemakers makes the bet they will take it down. Definitely not fair. I complained but got no where. And the reason I took the bet in the first place was a few days before their software caused a glitch and even tho it was MB's fault they refused to acknowledge it and said they couldn't cancel any bet. All bets must stand because someone else already took it. Guess it depends on whose Ox is being gored!

That's not the case. They will cancel bets on a spread / inverted line where you bet +7 instead of -7 (if the line has never been -7).

They will not cancel -200 when it should be -110, unless the error is extreme (+1600 instead of -1600 is how it was once explained to me)

This is detailed in their documentation somewhere.

its super easy to click too fast in matchbook and buy something that you did not want. I think you can even turn off the confirm option!! so A guy wanting this thought it was +200 in a second of stupidity, or more likely just wanted to adjust your offer and hit confirm in error with his price not in the box! happns a lot with that software and all the small boxes..

This America....

Far worse - a convicted murdering animal killed a couple of people and a security guard - he told his two worthless attorneys that he also killed all of them - he was charged with the murders but not the security guard - another man was charged and convicted for that murder - meanwhile, these two attorneys knew all along that this innocent man did nothing - the guy did 26 years before these attorneys finally said something (there are also numerous alibis that said the innocent man was not there) - the attorneys allege they were bound by the rules of professional conduct

While Matchbook is great, you do have to be careful. A couple of weeks ago during the matchplay championships I was on the tournament winner page and prior to the finals someone posted Stewart Cink +500 to lose. I'm assuming they meant -500 since he was up against Tiger. As soon as it appeared I jumped on it. Granted it probably wasn't a big deal since it was only for $10 but still it is easy to make a mistake if you aren't paying close attention.
