i know this has been discussed in the past, but a buddy owes me 2K. he continues to buy new clothes, new cell phone and join a gym now. i think one should take care of debts before buying luxuries, no?

i mean, he works for me a little and I keep half his pay check most the time, but the amount is very little, $30-$40 every two weeks. He works only a few hours a week.

In many cases, lending friends money will end badly.

In your case, of course, he should of paid his debt before going out and making new purchases.

Ask him if you can borrow 2k and see what his reaction is.

In the same boat with a bookie/former friend, exactly 2k also.

I HATE HATE HATE HATE calling him so he doesnt call me, just found out this past weekend he was in Cancun on a vacation this pisses me off more than anything. The worse part is I paid him 2k first when I lost and now when I win he hasnt paid over 1 year now.

In the same boat, I let a friend go through my guy. He lost 6K and couldn't pay a cent.

He is slow paying me. Sometimes its just better cleaning up the mess with the man and dealing with the other problems yourself, which I am doing.

Just look at it in the long term, In 2 months 10% of this guys debt will be gone and in TIME it all will be. You should have been made a priority plain and simple, once it's paid off I'd assume he will no longer be a buddy. Not because he owed you the $$ etc. but because of his lack of urgency to pay. One could write off a couple hundred bucks and say you'd be better off in the long run, but anything more he'd be getting one over on you, even if YOU could write off a few grand.

Just go along with this slow pay thing and be patient. Better than getting mad at him, pissing him off and never getting anything ever.

Have a friend who owes me $3500 and he comes into my bar with about 8 friends 3 days a week and goes out to another bar another 3 days a week. They spend about $200 everytime they are in....

So anyways, he tells me about 3 weeks ago, he will have my money on Saturday. Saturday comes and I can not get a hold of him. He calls me on the following tuesday and tells mme to come by his job. I get there and he tells me that he was pulled over last Friday night and busted for having drugs ( coke, X and some pills) adn now he can not pay me. What do I do now?

I would just take some property if that is the case...TV, Stereo....ect.. then pawn it and give him the tickets so he has to pay or lose his shit.

WINNER! been here before and currently am now........I am always nice to them and set up a payment plan. These guys are all guys I know well and am cool with. It sucks, but if you are an ass you just give them incentive not to pay you so dont do that. Slow is better than never.....

I'm glad you brought this up...I was gonna give you a call anyway. I've got a great plan for new fathers...shall we say 6:00 this evening? Have some coffee on, I'll probably be there quite awhile.

On one hand, I'm telling myself that I've got to remember to stay far, far away from your hood. Of course, on the other, I'm thinking that I'VE GOT to see just exactly what kind of joint you're running & where

still haven't been paid by this asswhipe. use to be a best friend, i guess.

he sends me an email and tells me he believes in "karma" i will be paid, it's not like i am out on the streets homeless.

I think his karma is saying he going to pay me, but won't. all while he is taking trips with his new girl and buying her coach purses.

What a piece of work this guy is.
