I have slept 8 or so hours for most of life. I currently hit the sack around 10:30 and get up at 7 now.

What a waste ...

I am going to start going to bed at 12 and arise at 5 every day.

I work from home and can do it at any time. It isnt 9-5 .

I wonder how long it will last.

Not very many people from the ages of 18-60 sleep more than 7 hours a day. I would say that the average is only 6 hours a day

Who actually gets 8 hours of sleep a night, your actually only need 7 not sure why everyone thinks 8 is the right amount.

maybe 18 to 40 . their is no way the majority of people over 40 get into bed at 12 and are up by 6 .

im at a fukt up stage in my life where im depressed over some dumb bitch and im working all the time. cant sleep but 3-4 hours at a time and am in need of short naps during the day but never get them. sleeping less than 7-8 hours simply cant be healthy for you imo

i think if you get a solid 5 hours , you should be good to go. especially if youre in good shape.

i am interested to see what i accomplish with this extra 20 hours a week.

i sleep from about 11:pm until 4:am or roughly 5 hrs per night..... however i take a 90 minute nap daily from 1:00pm to 2:30 pm.......... this gives me about 6.5hrs per day.......

however in doing it this way, i feel as though i get 2 days in one......... just my little way of cheating time............ i feel bad when i get up from the 90 minute nap but a couple of hours later, im wide awake and in high gear, where most are running out of steam.......

you should sleep in increments of 3 hours. 3 is better than 5 and 6 is better than 8.

look it up. i don't make this stuff up.

i forget the name of the sleep pattern, but basically its like just taking power naps. every couple of hours, you sleep for 30minutes. you wait until your really tired and by taking nap then you go straight to deep sleep. thus you only really sleep like 3-4 hours a day.

am tired of sleeping 8 hours as well. i wanna be more productive. thinking of taking that up, but problem is i work 10 hour shifts so can't afford to be takin naps plus i haven't figured what am goin to be doin with the extra time.

My sleep is still fucked up after about 10 years working graveyard, and I haven't had a job in about 4-5 years !

You may start to experience some unpleasant physical symptoms after a period of time of depriving your body.

We all need at least 7 hours of un-interupted sleep each day/night.

Me too. That is why I stayed up to watch San Diego/ STM last night until 2:30AM when I had to be up in 4.5 hours for work!:103631605

i have averaged 4.5-6.0 hrs for the last twenty yrs or so, i'm pretty normal.LOLOLOL

Everyone needs different amounts of sleep - also, sleep is good for you - also, I'd rather sleep more at night if it meant I was going to be sharper throughout the day
