Action reverse or if bet - A group of 2 wagers:
The second bet is conditional on the outcome of the first bet and vice versa.

The 2nd half of the reverse is live if and only if the first half of the reverse is won.

When you specify action then the second bet is activated if and only if the first bet either wins or ties.

Basically an action reverse lets you play two games with the money required to play one. You risk $220 to win $400 (at -110).

The catch is a split. Split two games in an action reverse and you lose $120 - the loss of one game and the juice of another.

When you bet regular separate straight bers and split the two $100 straight bets at -110 each you ony lose $10 in juice..

The only way to win betting a two team action reverse is to win both ends.

Risk $110 to win $100 on both ends and you win $400 if both ends win.
Split and you lose $120.

Lose both and you lose $220.

At most books you can bet anywhere from $10 on up per side on Reverses on the internet (higer minimums by phone).

i'm assuming it's an "action" reverse and not a "win" reverse correct?

i get it. i dont know why anyone would do it though.

people would do it because its close to parlay odds (2 to 1 ALMOST) , but there is security where u only lose the whole risk on one, and juice from 2nd bet so 110 + 10 =120$ lost if u win one and lose one, where in a parlay, u would lose ur 220$ if one loses regaurdless, but have chance at winning 2.6 to 1 instead of nearly 2 to 1, with action reverse.

hope im not confusing u

5 or so years ago, I only saw them in N.E. (NY and Mass) and now for whatever reason they are getting big in California recently and also in in S.E Florida.

Personally, I love them, but I am only local right now and they will not take them:(

Have a good night and cash some tix!

Example of a three team round robin action reverse.

Three Team Round Robin Action Reverse Play Team A in Game 1, Play Team B in Game 2 and Play Team C in Game 3...

A 3 Play Action Reverse has 6 different 2 team combinations or reverses:
1) If A wins or ties then B has action.
2) If A wins or ties then C has action.
3) If B wins or ties then A has action.
4) If B wins or ties then C has action.
5) If C wins or ties then A has action.
6) If C wins or ties then B has action.

Financial results when wagering $100 at -110 per team (6 bets)

Bet $100 a way if you hit all three games and 6 bets you win $1200
Bet $100 a way and win two and lose one you win $160.
Bet $100 a way and lose two you lose $460.
Bet $100 a way and lose three lose $660.

Assuming all bets are minus $110.

PS..Horse people call these types of bets birdcages..

They can be a pain in the ass to grade by hand (old days)..

I don't fuck with these, but I think I get it, I'm more of a Matchbook punter. It seems like a way to overbet ?

I like doing action and win reverses, gives you a bigger payout while somewhat limiting your risk as if you go 1-1 you lose 1 unit + juice but if you go 2-0 you pick up 4 units.

of course it would be more logical to bet straight wagers but this makes the gambling a little more of a "gamble."
