Gonna be in vegas for gf's sister's wedding in september....everyone going to disneyland after and 90% of the people are driving....i'm lazy as shit and I don't wanna drive.

Someone told me the time it takes to park/check in/rent car, etc....you can drive for practically the same amount of time.....probably true

am I being stubborn for pushing the plane....little extra money but the drive says 4+ hours...5+ hours with traffic

There are a few Rxers who live in that area. Think Rail, Mr Leisure, Teddy KGB, GI Joe, Big A Fan come to mind.

I'd say it is a 5-hour drive and the way gas prices are I'd just fly into the Beach on Jet Blue instead of John Wayne.

Depending on traffic should take about 4 and a half hours if you drive about 75-80 most of the way..

I live about 25 minutes from Anaheim..

It depends on what day you are going to leave Vegas. If you leave on sunday, traffic will be heavy. I drove home from Vegas 2 weeks ago for the 1st time in 9 years and was surprised how light the traffic was. It's all about the time and day you leave Vegas. Traffic out here is heavy between 3pm to 6pm on the weekdays. It's about a 4.5 hour trip. If you decide to fly, make sure you fly into the ontario airport. LAX is a nighmare.

Drive...

Leave Vegas around 9 in the morning and you won't hit much traffic all the way through. Roughly 280 miles door to door so it should not take any longer than 4 hours to get there.

I wouldn't do that either...

Fly in to John Wayne Airport if you are flying.

Much more convenient to your Orange County destination.

I never drive Vegas to OC any more. You're not spending that much more by flying and it's much more relaxing. I take JetBlue like Dobie said and watch TV the whole way (about 1 hour flight). The drive from Long Beach isn't that much farther than from John Wayne. Just take the 405 south from the airport and stay right to take the 22 west. You're there in less than 1/2 hour.

Thank goodness my degenerate friends agree with me on the flying.....

Now I can stick to my guns and pay the extra premium for flights.....

John Wayne....good to know....is that airport small? (meaning higher ticket prices)

Are we saying by air we got a 1 hour flight?

Vegas to Orange County-John Wayne is right at an hour and 10 minutes. Southwest does not charge any more for big versus small airports, just get the ticket far enough in advance to keep the price down.

okay...you guys convinced me to fly....what airport will be best?

I guess factors include how long to get out, how hard to rent car, and how far to disneyland
