My old piece of sh!t is giving problems starting lately. I just had the starter replaced last year, and now when I turn the key everything turns on normal (radio, lights, etc) but nothing out of the engine. No struggling noise or nothing. Just like the same sh!t when I found my starter was dead.

Here is the strange part though. I try again in couple of hours and just played with the gear box (its automatic) hit the brakes and tried it again and it started perfectly without any struggles. I go out and park. For curisiouty when I shut it down, I tried to start it again, and same garbage. Wont start. I leave and when I come back couple of hours, it works again after playing with the brakes and gear box (parking, neutral, etc).

WTF. If it was my starter wouldn't it not just work AT all. It seems like if I leave it for abit, it starts fine. It's intermittent. What do you guys think? I thought my starter was dead at the beginning, but now I think something else is fishy...

Put it in nuetral next time and it should start like a charm. That means there is a relay the needs to be clean or replaced.

if car is starti ng when you fool around with the stick shift, it could be the neutral saftey switch. IF not you could very well have another bad starter that when it gets hot doesnt want to start. Tough to figure out without not being there.

Haha this reminds me of when I was like 20 or so. I had no cash and my car wouldn't start without a push. Took it to a mechanic who took a look at it and told me it would be a few hundred bucks to fix. Didn't have the cash so I push started it for almost a month in the winter. My grandma convinced me to go to her mechanic that she's had for forever because it would be cheaper. The first thing this 90 year old guy says is "Wow, I've never seen an engine like this". I'm thinking fuck, this guy is gonna have a hell of a time. Anyway he calls like 10 minutes after I drop the car off and tells me it's fixed. Only thing that was wrong was a cord from the battery to the starter wasn't fully connected. The other asshole was trying to rip me off and I push started the thing in the snow for no reason. Granny's mechanic didn't charge me a cent.
