yeah, nothing spectacular. If you are looking to pick anything up in order to win, it is not the book for you.

Like others have said - very fun and interesting read but it won't teach you anything (other than the fact that it stresses the importance of getting a good line).

If the time frame for the book would have been 1982-85, it would have been a best-seller. :103631605:103631605

It's a good read. You've been around long enough to know exactly what it's about.

I have never found out how much of it is real and who are the real names of some of the characters. He has some "nice" things to say about the shrink.

which of his lies is more blatant?

that after a little while of putting in some bets for Billy Walters that he was qualified to and started his own BW style operation, with him at the top

that he made his own picks for his own operation and knows enough about sports to be a winning capper

that he made millions doing this in a couple weeks of NFL betting

that he quit then because it wasnt worth it

If I was the librarian, Id throw it out. If forced at gunpoint not to throw it out, Id file it under Fairy Tales.

I can agree that most of your points about Konik are a bit far-fetched. With that said, the characters in the book are genuinely real and the included stories are a tease for some of the stuff that has actually went down.

no, i dont think anyone has been payed, the shrink ignores the issue, sort of like konik's take on him in the book.

What does he say about the shrink in the book? I read the book but never realized he was talking about the shrink at any point.

Without a doubt the stupidest book Ive ever read. I got it as a Christmas present I would have known not to buy the thing. Just a total self indulgent lie filled piece of crap. Konik is about as sharp at sports betting as a bowling ball.

Yah he could have been used for a while by Billy to get some bets in as could anyone else off the street, but there is no reason to believe anything else in the book. His lies about his own betting abilities and starting his own team are way beyond preposterous.

Just an awful, awful book. I wouldnt even use it as a doorstop.
