Well known stocks are moving up and down huge percentages on a daily basis.

On that note, in less than 15 minutes the FED is going to state how much they are cutting interest rates.....it could be a history setting occurrance.

Tune into CNBC, as the countdown is on.

It is going to be fascinating to see how some stocks are going to react when Gentle Ben releases his plan.

The market is up 300 pts on the day already in anticipation that a record rate cut is coming.

Not sure where the market will head after this turns out to be true.

Minimum $25,000.......absolutely no less in my opinion.........and that's with commissions of no more than $10 per trade.

in my 'active' trading account I keep a little over 100k. I have holdings in almost 20 different stocks. I make about 2 to 3 trades per week.

the past 6 months has been a ride to say the least.

I wouldn't call this daytrading as I did a ton of homework on my holdings and know their valuations. I do buy low and sell high but that makes it sound too easy

lol

good luck

The reason this country is a mess(inflation, housing, etc.), is because there was too much cheap money for irresponsible people to borrow. Now we are lowering the rates to nothing, and we are supposed to get out of this crisis? I'm glad very little of of this effects me.

if the average joe can buy a CD and earn 4 to 5 % with zero risk why would they risk it by investing it in the market? they wouldn't. so by lowering the rate the banks pay to borrow money it allows the banks to drop the rates they pay on CD's. forcing the average joes to put their money into more risker investments.

it also drives down the value of the USD so our products look inexpensive to foriegn investors.

the country is not in a mess if you understand what is happening and can take advantage of it.

if you were trading the indexes or hedging with them, it would have been easier.....

if your getting into trading stocks actively....... look into doing a little longer term trading and hedging with the indexes.......

having to get out, with the markets close can be a Huge disadvantage...

guys are making a killing trading the sp, silver, grains, just to name a few.....

well, unless your talking about long term investing.... im totally against the simple buying of stocks........ unless your holding in a 401k for 10 + years.. there are much better and profitable ways to trade the markets....

short term trading the SP or Emini SP is the best way i can think of......

the hedging i was talking about was buying (Put Options) in the dow, naz or sp markets or selling (Call Options)...... this could have been done as a hedge against your portfolio...

i suggest learning to trade the (SP) or (Emini SP) or the (Dow)...... this way, you get the best of all worlds........ it does not matter if it goes up or down as you can go Long or Short.....

playing one side, as in the simple buying of stocks, when day trading, when up is the only way to go, to make money...... is a very bad plan, especially in this market........

there will be many rough days....... the money is to be made on the downside....

Jim Cramer said not to sell yesterdays rally..... My opinion, he was wrong.. at this moment, all rallys are to sell......

tell you what, you can circle mondays low, from early that morning, if they come out.... it will be a downward slide.......

the heaviest volume being traded, is the emini sp 500 market...... when referring to any commodity (an index is considered a commodity and you need a commodity broker to trade it).......

find yourself a chart for the (June emini sp 500) (ESM8)

look at the high made today of 1343 and the low made on monday of 1278. circle both of these marks............. todays close was 1298......

the first of those marks (1343........1278) to come out, will show near term direction............. if a bottom is in, as some of the experts are hinting, the low of (1278) will not come out and more importantly a close under 1278 will not occur....

if your in this market and see a close under (1278) in the sp (futures market) and guys there is a difference in the futures and cash market for the sp.......... if mondays lows come out, you do not want to be Long in this market.....

now ive said my peace....
