It's not even close. Why has the music in the USA gone to crap lately?

PS, if anyone wants to check out a lovey dovey song, Hedley's "For the Nights I Can't Remember" is one of the best songs I've heard in a long time.

Jake, I'm not sure how much Canadian music programming you guys get in the states but have you ever heard of "3 Days Grace" or "Finger 11" ?? Those are probably two of my favorite Maple Leaf rock bands at the moment but they just get played to death on the radio here unfortunately.
Hedley's music is really starting to grow on me. About time someone from the Canadian Idol show did something.

Both really really solid Vancouver bands about to break out. The music scene around here is really good right now.

I have always liked the Canadian rockers, from way back in the 80s the Northern Pikes, Age of Electric, Our Lady Peace, Pure, I Mother Earth, Econoline Crush.

Limblifter one of my current favorites, from Vancouver area also. Oh yea and Nickelback too

My girlfriend is a fan Crowned King. She loves punk and ska type stuff. Last concert I saw with her was at the Commodore Ballroom seeing Pennywise, Ignite, and a few other punk bands as well....fun show.

I am not familiar with Lights but I hear Toronto has a good scene as well....just not as familiar with it.

Oh yea. Played on the radio stations all the time. Paralyzer from Finger was an excellent song but it gets played as much as anything and I'm so tired of it right now.

Hedley was from Canadian Idol? I never knew that...

Our Lady Peace is an all-time favorite for me. Just getting into Econoline Crush lately. They are okay but don't blow me away.

Pennywise is one of my favorites as well. Will have to check out Crowned King if they play a similar style. Never heard of them and I've been pretty deep in the punk scene for years.

Lately? It's been crap for a solid decade or two.

Every once in a while I'll find something I like. Rap, the only good stuff is underground. Game is good, Kanye is amazing, but everything else I pretty much hate that gets radio play. Eminem was solid too but he retired. Nas is kinda main stream and good. On the rock front, it's kinda ridiculous. I'm a closet Good Charlotte fan but the stuff I really like such as Strung Out, Street Dogs, and NOFX doesn't get radio play. Rise Against is about as close as I get to liking rock that gets played nationally. They have a good message and good music. Anyway, you are probably right. Every once in a while something falls through the cracks but for the most part, it's garbage.
