Lines seem awfully low to me....I would have thought they would each be 4-5 point fav's. And Mich St opened -1 against Pitt?

Haven't paid real close attention to college hoops as in years past but these lines look off to me

i was expecting:

michigan state (-4)
marquette (pk)

needless to say, ill be on marquette.
michigan state is so enigmatic that any line the books hang, you can almost justify. so while i would have made it 4, i can understand the short number.

How did you come up with Mich St -4? I would've been far less surprised with Pitt -4. Pitt is on an absolute roll, plays in the far better conference, Bobby Knight just picked them to win it all, and Mich St can't play away from home. Not saying Im picking Pitt to win, just can't believe you had MSU favored and by that much

I'm not a huge college hoops guru but I've seen enough of Michigan State and Pittsburgh to know Pittsburgh has at least a 60% chance to win that game. No way this is a true pk.

And the O/U is too low. Line should be mid to high 130's.

pitt with 6th game in 11 days.
although today was a glorified scrimmage, so that helps the panthers as they werent really tested. i expected the scheduling to be factored into the line a little more.

michigan state has held a strong power rating all year, justified or not. sometimes they play up to it. other times, they just look very average.

very tough opponent for pitt given the circumstances. panthers would have been better served with a notre dame or vanderbilt type of opponent. spartans will test them physically.

I went in to the tournament thinking I'd be fading Mich St, but at +2.5 I have to take them

technically its Pitts 6th game in 11 days but they had a four day layoff from the Georgetown game to today's walk in the park. So on from the other side you can say it will be Pitt's second game in 7 days. I can't believe fatigue will play an issue so early on in the tournament, these teams play on strict adrenaline anyways.

I'll be truly surprised if Michigan State beats Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh winning the Big East tourney was no fluke, they are the real deal. The Spartans will test them but Pittsburgh will pass through.

Everyone blindly taking Stanford consider the following:

Hard to ignore that ND, WV, Pitt, and Marq all pretty easily breezed today, while the Pac-10 once again showed weekly (USC and Zona ousted). The Pac-10 is incredibly overrated. Obviously the Lopez twins are a handful, but Marquette has the better guards

Marquette has been overvalued all year. This team is not that good.

They can't shoot worth a lick. Dominique James is one of the biggest frauds I have ever seen play.

if you isolate the thursday-saturday 2-in-3, thats not that tough and everyone is on a level playing field there. but throw in the 4-in-4 from last week and now you are asking pitt to lay CHALK against a good team on yet another quick turnaround. thats awfully tough. not only is the 6-in-11 tough, but theyve all been away from home.

and perhaps the BIGGEST thing working against pitt, and its an ENORMOUS red flag, is that the game is at altitude in denver.

there are pro teams who get their asses handed to them on the final part of their west coast swing against the nuggets.

pitt got fu.cked by the tourney committee here.
