Pretty much means that life is a struggle but I'll emerge. I have thought about what I want for years and nothing really seems to pop out to be honest. I just wanted a tattoo and settled on a latin phrase.
I have a ways to go to match TTP's work though.

Victor Thompson really likes Tom Brady and the Patriots… REALLY LIKES THEM.
“It just popped into my head that I wanted it to look like Tom Brady’s helmet,” Thompson said. Hey Victor - any time an idea pops in your head and it actually involves tattooing your head, wait a couple days and reconsider.
Notice though that Thompson left plenty of room atop his head - that’s because if the Pats win the superbowl, he will get the Lombardi Trophy tattooed on his head, along with the years the team has won it all.
“I feel awesome,” he said. “I feel like the Pats now.”
