OT--FIVE GUYS burgers & fries

Any of you tried this place, and if so, did you like it?

These joints are going up on virtually every street corner here in the Tampa area and I find their burgers and fries to both be outstanding.

The fries are made fresh and cooked in peanut oil.

Gonna have to try it now fish. to be honest one was built here a bit ago and never walked in to see what it was all about. Will now and try it out.

Have gone weekly to one the past 3-4 months since visiting my first one.

Tonight, they made their fries fresh and gave me a double order for the extended wait. Reckon I must have a pound of potatoes and a cup of peanut oil in my stomach currently............DAMN GOOD STUFF!

Love the place but it is a heart attack in a sack. Great place to go to cure a hangover the next day.

Having the fries in not to bad considering they fry them in fresh peanut oil.......but one still has to practice moderation considering the fat content, especially if one is combining the fries with a double burger.

Having a large fries and double burger would MORE than satisfy your daily requirement of fat for the day.

If you guys are ever in Champaign and want about the best burger there is, come to Murphys pub on Green st, the bacon cheeseburger with grilled onion and mushrooms is the thing

Five Guys is a staple in the DC area. I'm sure some of those guys can chime in after they sober up from the festivities. Definitely have tasty fries. I know we hit it up hungover after a long night of drinking one day last time I was back there.

Damn brock, wish I knew that, I went to the OSU/ILL game last year and was drunk and starving and basically wondered around the campus and found nothing. Did not help the hangover the next day

Fries are incredible. The place is great--simple menu, but outstanding food. I discovered them in Orlando a couple of years ago and now they've spread to Tampa. I regularly hit the one on Kennedy on my way home from the airport. It's a pain in the ass to get in and out of (and park), but it is well worth it.

I went up to Atlanta and took my boss to one two weeks ago. He is still talking about it.

Amazing isn't it?

The place has spaces for about 12 cars and during lunch hour there must be minimum 100 people in the joint.

By the way, FIVE GUYS doesn't have a drive-up window because everything is made fresh and sometimes this can take awhile to get your order done.

Here in St. Pete, I now have two FIVE GUYS within 3 miles of my front door........not good.

Not a big burger & fries person, but if I had to choose one In-n-Out Burger.

Unfortunatly right now they are only in California, Arizona & Nevada.

I hit them up a bunch when I was in Northern VA, but only every few months. Those burgers are too intense to have that often.

Yeah Dobe. These burgers are a staple and you do have to eat them but so much because of the amount of meat (I only go for the little burger) and you might as well go for the regular fries (they throw in an extra scoop of fries at the bottom of the bag). I cant eat these during lunch because I usually get the -itis.

Yes, probably still give the nod to IN-N-OUT Burger also.........the toasted bun and fresh onion make the burger. Would give the edge to FIVE GUYS though on the fries end.

I felt like a 5G Burger last night you know when they get the bun and the toppings ready and then Bam they slide the Burger in ....Well in the Nova game i had Under 144.5 for the game and got a little nervous at half so ended up betting Over 143.5 and BAM 144!!!
