It seems like for the past 3-4 years a team comes out of nowhere to post a large amount of wins. Surprisingly, I would say it usually is a team from the AL Central...Royals, White Sox, Tigers, Indians. Anybody see a non public favorite that should win a lot before the rest of the country catches on?

^^ Maybe if they sign Barry Bonds. I dont know if Scott Kazmir has a lot of help in the rotation, though.

I may sound like a homer now, and may sound like one later. But the Rays can make some noise. For how long? That really is the question. Its ST right now, but they have the best record. Again, it means shit, but I feel they can make some great noise in April and into May. I will play them as a dog everytime in April.

Kazmir will be out for mid April, but Shields and Garza have looked good during spring. Jackson can be terrible, but then great. He just had two good back to back starts.

Offense could put up some numbers as well. I am waiting on Longoria, if he stays up or not.

im a braves fan, kinda think the ship has sailed, as for a live sleeper, if the brew-crew gets better pitching and prince fielder puts up the same #s they are legit.

i just played rays u77 -125

while i do think they could be improved, their closers are percival (38) or reyes (37), not exactly spring chickens, and they play in a tough division w/ tor looking good also this year...

went 66-96 last yr = 30 games under .500
for me to win bet i need 76-86, which is 10 games under .500

did they improve that much..??
i hope not...

Are you shitting me???

All so they can have him for an extra year. Now if they lose a playoff spot because of one game they can look back at this. :nopityA:

Don't know what the criteria for a "sleeper" is here, but I say the Mariners take out the Angels and win the AL West this yr

I like the Florida Marlins. They probably wont make the playoffs but I think they win 80 games.

I think the Reds will play well this year, getting back to at least 500 and probably better. Baker has re-energized the players, and there are some young pitchers that you'll want to see if they pan out. The season rests in their hands (Volquez and Cueto). Not a good betting formula relying on young arms, but hey, you're looking for sleepers. Don't forget they added Cordero (away from Milwaukee, btw) to fix the bullpen, and they have a lot of depth there now. I like them to go over their vegas win total which I think is 76. Better, I like them throughout the year.
