MistaFlava's 2008 MLB Record: 0-0 (+0.00 Units)

Welcome all to another season of bases. I had a great record last season but do not have time to get into writeups and analysis until a few weeks from now when CBB is done for good. So until the CBB season is done I will be posting plays only with no explanation.

Enjoy the games and good luck this season!

Matsuzaka vs. Blanton

All you need to know here is that the world is on Boston with the local star Dice K on the mound but I am not buying this. I don't need to point it out again but Matsuzaka was 0-1 versus the A's last season while Blanton got to see this Red Sox lineup three times and he should be ready go with the A's going 2-1 last season when he starts against Boston. I don't know how many of you know this but when Dice K was favored on the road last season (away from home), the Red Sox won only 3 of the last 10 games in that category and again here he is favored away from home. There are probably a ton of distractions on top of everything this week for the local hometown boy and I just have a bad feeling about him in this one. Blanton was actually a really good series starter last season winning 4 of his last 5 opening games of a series which I think could play a big part into what we see in this game. All the value in the world is with the underdog and there is no reason not to back them here. So if you like to be on the public side of things and if you like eating chalk the Red Sox are for you. However I like the move to make Blanton the #1 guy here and I think he will actually set the tone for this team to do well in this game.

Trend of the Game: Boston is 1-4 in Matsuzakas last five games as a road favorite of -151 to -200.

Oakland 5, Boston 3

No trends in Japan; He is actually a home fav. (Look that up) Also no way Bo Sox only score 3.

people act as if bostons offense is always as good as it was in the playoffs. fact: that was probably the best stretch of baseball they played all year. no teams execute on offense that well on a yearly basis. for many teams executing like that on a weekly basis is hard to come by.

I just see them as a "spot light" team that is all. It is going to be insane to play in front of a crowd that large. Either of youz going to be up to watch tonight.
