MistaFlava's 2008 MLB Record: 0-1 (-1.00 Units)

Welcome all to another season of bases. I had a great record last season but do not have time to get into writeups and analysis until a few weeks from now when CBB is done for good. So until the CBB season is done I will be posting plays only with no explanation.

Enjoy the games and good luck this season!

Lester vs. Harden

Well althought the A's lost the season opener earlier this morning against the Bosox, I think they looked good enough to give them another shot and had it not been for a blown save by Huston Street, I would be talking about my 1-0 record on the season. Nonetheless, the blown saves by underdogs are going to play a prominent part of the early season and I really like the fact that Street got the early season jitters out of the way and he should be ready to rock it out if put in there in the same situation again this morning. Papelbon looked horrendous for the Red Sox and had it not been for a running mistake by Emile Brown, the A's would have most likely tied this game in the 10th inning and possibly won as the next two batters got on base. Jon Lester is making his 2008 debut in this game but the last time he started against this A's team he lasted only 4.1 innings, allowing 5 runs (four of them earned) on 2 Home Runs and 9 strikeouts. Rich Harden has had an absolute miserable time pitching in his career against the Red Sox allowing 7 ER's in his last outing (in 2004) and 8 ER's in the outing before that (in 2003) but keep in mind that Harden was fresh and young back then and he has since turned into quite the pitcher. Both bullpens looked shaky but I do like the matchup of this A's batting lineup against Lester (who I think will start the season off slowly). Believe it or not betting on the A's when Harden starts has been the best option with these guys as they have won 36 of their last 51 games he has started so I am banking on them to bounce back well from yesterday's game. Oakland hit pretty well against lefties last season winning 5 of their last 6 games versus left handed pitchers and they have the pleasure of facing Lester a lefty in this game. I like the A's to even this series up before heading back to North America.

Trend of the Game: Oakland is 36-15 in Rich Harden's last 51 starts.

Oakland 6, Boston 3

I like Rich Harden and would like to see him do well here, but it's pretty hard to tell what kind of pitcher he is these days when he's been injured so much of late and has only pitched a combined 71 innings over the past 2 seasons. Gonna lay off this one, goodluck

WHat was your record last season? and how many different unit plays do you have.

1 and 3 so far, so what is the highest you will go in baseball units.

thank you and gl this season.

Will have to go back to some old 2007 threads to track exact record (will try to include in this weekend's thread). 1 to 10 units in baseball...nothing more. Thanks and GL this season.
