Canseco is a lying, cheating, extortionist. Now that he's out of the game he starts ratting on everyone and even threatening to expose players if "investments weren't made"? What a crook!! Who knows how many players made "the investments" to help cloud up Jose's "memory". As far as I can see, who is "dirty" and who is "clean" seems to depend on if you gave money to Jose. This is not what makes authors believable, it's what makes them criminals.
