:toast:if you had one bet to place which would enable you to retire and you had to choose between the cubbies or the brewers to win the div this year, who would you choose?

Brewers. The only question mark is Gagne as a closer and Sheets' health. If both of those come up positive (bad phrase to use with Gagne) the Brewers will have more than enough offense to win that division. Look for major years for Fielder and Braun, and Weeks will be a huge offensive threat.

Its not IF Sheets stays healthy, its WHEN does he get hurt. I would be shocked if Milwaukee wins the division with their rotation.

The Cubs, but only if Soriano hits something other than leadoff.

They've said Soriano is done as a leadoff man. He shouldn't leadoff, but the issue is kind of overhyped anyway. #2 might be an even worse slot though.

Need him about 5-6th. Since Roberts is out, they can use Theriot for leadoff.

If the Cubs don't dominate their division THIS SEASON, they are gonna be in a world of hurt attempting to do so in the future. On the field and financially.

Cameron's missing what, the first month of the season? Going to try and break Braun in left which should be an experience although he's coming along from early reports, Fielder's not content with what's going on personally in his interactions with management, Hardy apparently lost 10 pounds of muscle due to an illness in the spring.

Lots of shit going on with that team. That being said - loads of talent, lots of guys that have gotten their feet wet and taken off their kid wheels.

Come one dude, speak with some intelligence.

Cameron signed as a free agent, and everyone knew months ago that he was going to miss the first 25. The guy can hit HR, but bats maybe .250. Not really the type that drives a team. Defensively, they have Gywnn Jr, who is faster and maybe close to as skilled as Cameron. If they want the same type player as Cam batting wise, they can move Hart to center and play Gross in right. They'll be fine. They have enough mediocre talent in the outfield to go around.

As far as Fielder goes, how do you think that will take away from his numbers in '08? Look at his history. Fielder is going through the same thing many young players do. He knows he'll get his. Fielder is the type that uses this stuff as inspiration to succeed, it certainly won't turn him into a guy that hits .260. I predict he hits better than .290 with at least 52 bombs. MVP numbers on a better team, I just can't see anyone from the NL Central winning it this year.

Find me a website that says Hardy lost 10 lbs of muscle. He had the flu, not some crazy muscle eating virus. He probably puked a few times and went a couple days without eating. He lost a few pounds. He's feeling better. Shit like that happens every day. It's not gonna kill his season, I promise.

Have a good one.

Closer - Gagne

Brewers better score 6-7 runs/game. Oh, and 5-inning plays are your friend too. Eliminates the Gagne factor.
