I made a bet $100 before leaving Vegas. The bet won on Feb. 3rd. I sent the ticket in March 5th. When I was sending the ticket in I noticed the ticket expired 30 days after the bet(damnit!). I sent the ticket in anyway, but I was wondering if anyone had any actual idea if they would even honor the bet (bet was placed at the Rivera). Thanks guys!

Placed at the Riv means its a Leroys book. My advice is to forget about it. They probably will not go out of their way to make you happy because they are a remote book with no physical casino so they do not care if you are a regular player or not. So I say forget about and if it comes hey its a little extra cash you forgot you had.

30 days to cash is a absolute ripoff which illustrates Leroy's second class operation.

All other books here give you at least 60 days to cash, most have 90 days, and at least one, (Hilton), allows 120.

fsusurfer- VegasVic is spot on as usual. Leroys is a dogshit operation and has been for a long time. Even with Jimmy Vaccaro pimping for them, they still suck. My only question to you is when they took the $100 bet, did they ask for two forms of ID and a note from Epstein's mother. I'm surprised Vic Salerno didn't have you followed after you made the bet. That's a rich bet for Leroys to accept.

The 30 day period to cash the ticket is criminal. The standard period is 90 days. As stuckinvegas mentioned, they will probably pay you and they should. If they don't, I would call the Nevada Gaming Commission but that will be tough because the Nevada Gaming Commission doesn't know the first thing about sports betting. This is the perfect example of why Las Vegas sports books are a total joke and you should really stick to betting offshore.

Harrahs

Harrahs books actually give you a year now to cash in your sports tickets.

I just read an article in the Las Vegas Advisor about this very thing and I will almost assure you that they will honor the wager.

Also...

Also...

I mailed some tickets to Leroy's about 2 months ago. They were not expired though. I got my check back in the mail in about 10 days.

If you sent yours in on March 5th, I think you should have got a check by now...

Sorry but I have to disagree ! I have never lost a dime to any Sportsbook here in Vegas but I have been stiffed for over $10,000 and then some by the offshores. Why would anyone make a bet at a Leroys anyway ?

Why?

Why make a bet at Leroys?

I usually avoid Leroys if I can. Those little kiosks are very convenient though when most the other books are closed late at night or early in the morning.

Why in the hell would you place a bet at this particular book when splitting town.It is a Fine book as long as you pesonally pick up your winnings. Write it off and chalk it up to experience. I always use one of the Harrahs corp. books [ Harrahs. caesars,paris,rio,ballys--] when leaving town. Guarenteed payout with almost all up to a year. GL in the future and still hope by some chance you get payed off:toast:

Nothing wrong with placing a bet at Leroys if you are going to collect after the game and not leave town. I used to find it convenient. If I wanted to get something in I used to just run up to the Silverton real quick park in the 15 minute sports book parking and was in and out.

Hey guys thanks so much for the replys. Here's what happend: My friend went out to Vegas and he was staying at the Riviera(sp) and was leaving the next day. I had him put 100 on the St. Marys(+4) - Gonzaga game on Feb. 4th. St. Marys covered.. Then I had to go on TDY for a couple weeks. Got back, waited a week or so and then though oh yeah i better send the ticket in. Well, I noticed the 30 days thing and sent it 31 days after the event (March 5th). I had to send it registerd mail (which I paid another 10 bucks for!)and that always takes longer than normal mail, t arived there on the 20th. I guess its my fault, usually when I place a bet, the tickets dont expire for 60-90 days. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed, but wont expect it. I think its a rip off they wont at least give you the amount of your wager back...:WTF:

I live here in Vegas and I am about 99 % sure you will get your $$. If for some reason they send you back your ticket uncashed, let me know. I will get you the money back in person. John Kelly has a radio program every day which is sponsored by Leroys. They do not need to hear that kind of BS on their radio program and I know John Kelly and He will not pull any punches. Also the Las Vegas Advisor just sent out a scoop on this very topic on March 21. You might want to contact them if you don't get your $$. GL My experience is that sometimes it takes up to a month to get your money. For a measley $ 100 wager I would never register the mail. I lived in Oregon for many years and I never sent the tickets by any other means than regular 1 st class mail and I never failed to get my Money back. All the registering does is delay you Money.

Why would Leroy's run the risk of getting a bad reputation by pulling this off-handed crap??? Is it because they are greedy?
