Nigerian scam variation hitting rock bottom. US Marine from Iraq.

For the record this is a scam..Now some scammer is impersonating a US Marine fighting man from the conflict in Iraq. How low can you go?

Good day to you,

My name is Sgt. Derek Bittman of The 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marines, I am serving in Iraq (Mosul) and I will need your assistance to take care of some financial matters for me and of course you will be adequately compensated.

I have to urgently evacuate the sum of $20,000,000.00 (Twenty million US dollars) clean legal notes and all in US$100 bills out of here to a safe place, having found a secure way to do so.

I have now found a temporary solution with the help of a lady who is working with an international organization here, She does not know the real contents of the packages used in concealing the funds and must not know rather believes that the packages belong to an Asian American who died in an air raid and before giving up, he trusted me to hand the packages as it is to his business associate in Europe.

what does failing health have to do with being a moron?

And even if you could blame it on old age or a mental condition, the person would be agreeing to partake in a fraud. I have no sympathy for someone that agrees to launder illegally obtained money for a 5 million dollar profit.

Anything is possible, a person whith above average intelligence could be in the early stages of Alzeimers and actually believe there is nothing wrong with helping out a US Marine (simply because he is a US Marine rather than the vice president of Uganda) transfer a huge sum of money even if that person earns a healthy profit him or herself.

That actual point of my post is these scammers who use the dozens of variations of this so called Nigerian Scam have hit IMHO a new low by using a US Marine as the person seeking help. I am sure you could argue that using sick children as the hook is worse and it probably is but I haven't seen that one yet.

I post these just to keep the different variations of the scam public at least to the extent that the posters and lurkers at The Rx.com are concerned.

In the long run I am pretty confident that 99.9% of the people who read this site are not naive enough to fall for such a ridiculous propisition.

My grandfather has no idea how to use a computer but he knows damn well when someone is promising him 5 million dollars they are full of shit and up to no good.

either its the Nigerians or its the DOJ wanting to bust some dumbass willing to launder this money

Most of the people who are scammed are elderly, widowed women. Most on fixed incomes looking for financial help.

How quickly we forget. One of the biggest scams of all time. WMD's. Costing the American taxpayers $3,000,000,000,000. And how many people fell for that one? Now that was "rock bottom".
