OT - What's the whole thing behind these guys driving around selling audio equipment?

I must have 10-15 guys a year approach me in a van asking if I'd like to buy a stereo or audio equipment. Is this stolen stuff? Anybody have this experience?

i knew someone that did this. the guys in the van usually buy a large quantity of speakers at a less than wholesale price. if they can sell them, they make off with a nice profit. if not, they end up stuck with the equipment.
on the other hand, also heard of scammers that sell electronics in sealed boxes. the buyer goes home to find that there's only a brick inside the box.

THese systems look amazing but will break down in a couple weeks, Imported from China... These motha fuckers sell in groups and will chase you down the street and push you to buy.

My friend does this he makes good money off suckas, if you see them drive away quick!%^_

I had a guy selling cologne at my door one time. I told him the same thing I tell the other guys, what if I decide I don't like it a week from now? Can I take it back and get my money back? They always say no. So I tell them I would rather buy at a place that has a guarantee.
