Of course it is used almost every night during baseball including tonight. Saying doesnt make any sense to me, especially if the guy is not pinch hitting

You're the only one.

You hit the homer, the game is over, you walk off the field.

'walk off homer' would be cool if it was the name of a poker outfit
he could ask you to trade 35 bucks from somewhere for.

Game ending homerun is better than walk off.

Of course I never get to hear it either way with my Astros

Man this reminds me of Joe Carters walk off World Series winning home run for the Blue Jays.

PO69, I can't think of many phrases in sports that make more sense than "walk-off homer" does.

Walk off homer in baseball, buzzer beating shot in basketball, sudden death goal in hockey OT...it's all relative man.

If a player hits a home run in the bottom of the final inning to win a game it is a walk-off home run because that is what the opposing players do.:103631605

PO69- I'm glad you brought this up. That term "walk off" is the dumbest saying I have ever heard relating to sports. Everytime I hear it, I want to throw the TV out the window. Last season some idiot announcer actually used the term walk off walk when the pitcher walked in the winning run. I'm so tired of hearing that expression.

What ever happened to "game winning" hit or home run?
