Teams can challenge a call as much as they like, every time they are wrong, they lose an out in their ABs or the opponent gets an extra out for their AB in the following inning.

If they challenge in the Top of the 4th, if it is the 3rd out, in the Bottom of the 4th the home team gets 4 outs. If they do it during the 1st or 2nd out, they lose an out if they are wrong.

The White Sox are going to get fucked because of no review capability today. That blown call at home plate was outrageous.

Skins,

That is exactly what I was watching when I said it. Crede was safe by half a mile and this phantom tag shit has to stop.

It definitely sucks if it effects your bet but i just don't like the idea of baseball with replays. I am sure most of you guys have played at one point of your life, to me the element of human error is what keeps baseball "pure", and i'm not talking about roids. Maybe I look at baseball with rose color glasses as they say, but baseball has not changed much over the years when compared to other sports and to me thats what I love about it. It is not perfect but there is something to be said for being able to watch nearly the same game as 100 years ago ... but with black people too!:toast:

My exact feelings...replays will not help the game..best officials in any sports are umpires...

Was a bad call...but the ball beat him and Davis took a bad angle that prevented him from seeing the missed tag.

But the intereference call on Cabrera was worse IMO...Dreckman knows how to get in position...but apparently does not understand the rules.

Sox were victims of three bad calls...in back-2-back innings...

First was on a play at 1B in the 7th...

where Pierzynski was called out as Garko stretched...fell down... and his foot was off the bag...AJ was called out, ended the inning. Baines went nutty...Sox dugout went nutty...Pierzynski spiked Garko in the back which was kind of interesting...but the play cost the Sox from taking a 8-7 lead.

Then in the 8th...Sox load the bases with no outs...Crede tried to score on a grounder, contact play was on...and was called out at home plate. The ball was there...but Crede made a nice slide around the tag...unfortunately, Gerry Davis was in a bad position and did not see that Crede was not tagged. So he called him out.

Next...Thome grounds into an interference DP as Cabrera was called for interferring with the throw back to 1st...he was on the bag when he touched Cabrera...which is not interference. But was called that by Dreckman...

Both of those plays kept the Sox from taking the lead...then the Indians raked and finished 'em off.

Illini...

I was certain that TLR was done after Jocketty got fired...

Shocked me that he returned for a 2 year deal. Made no sense to me at all...so...

Followed 'em thru the grape league...and it looks like TLR has changed...he is actually playing the younger players. Although, it would have been real interesting if that washed up Gonzalez could have stayed healthy...I would have liked to see what TLR would have done then w/regards Barton, Schumaker...etc...

I think they are going to surprise alot of people this year. Wainwright looks like an ace and Lohse is "Suppan-Plus". If they can stay afloat until Carpenter gets healthy...I think they will win over 80 games...and as you know...does not take too many more than that to win the Central.

Did you get a piece of that 12-1 that Betjam has up? I think it's still there for another 20 minutes.

Its funny when baseball uses costs as a reason for not implementing a replay system.

Players and coaches are being paid millions to play a game like baseball and then talk about replay costing too much. LOL

The umpires could keep the strike zone and its human error element for you purists. However, there is no excuse for plays at bases and especially homeplate to continue being blown.

Could have a challenge system such as nfl and that eliminates the complaints about games being extended.

Coaches get 2 challenges per game and anything in 9th inning and extra innings can come via challenge or upstairs.

They could start with only plays at first and homeplate being reviewed and expand if the system improves the game.

I did not play any futures this year in bases...

But that is a nice price.

One thing about TLR...he likes it when his clubs are counted out.

Balls and strikes could never be called by a machine. Too much happens too fast......check swings, bunts, balks, etc.....

Having a challenge review system...that is something to think about.

IMO...

It is one of the unique aspects of baseball...Each umpire with a unique strikezone...Quest-Tech tried to change that...but I do not think it did.
