A few things:
1. The BoSox are almost always considered a square pick when not playing the Yanks.
2. Any time you get positive odds to play the BoSox against non-Yanks (I think around +120 at first pitch), it's even more probably square.
3. It's still early in the season, so speculation is of higher value now than recent results (many gamblers don't even bet baseball until May - after NCAAM and NBA - so that public consensus can find teams that they will pound and therefore move value to the other side).
With all that being said, I'm definitely not the square vs. sharp guru. JMO
