All the young kids in the pen pitch well, and a guy they go out and sign sucks. When do you ever get good bullpen guy from another team, it rarely happens.

Your right. Seems everytime I watch Hawkins on TV, he is giving up runs.

I keep balking at the Rays games....sigh.

With that said, does anyone ever take the Yankees? I dont think I have ever touched the Yanks against a bad team. Ill grab them when they are playing a good team and the juice is low but against the Rays or other low fanbase teams, they get juiced like crazy.

SHAMELESS BUMP for Apr 13 update

TB DRays a solid 6-6 through first two weeks with five vs lower half (Balt) and seven vs supposed upper half (NYY, SEA)

In a tight field, they are 6th in league scoring and 8th in league ERA. Even better they are 5th in league WHIP - a category where they've been accustomed to being in bottom two or three for most of their history.

Jason Hamel has had two strong starts to give him eight consecutive starts now with an ERA of under 4.00

Ed Jackson has had two strong starts in line with last season's 13 start stretch where he had an ERA under 3.50

This bears mention because if Kazmir and Garza can get back in rotation by early May, the DRays could have five very legitimate starting pitchers (including Jimmy Shields) and that's without including Sonnanstine.

This concludes tonight's boogey dance around the DRays campfire.
