I believe it will be August for Carpenter...

Cardinals get Piniero back pretty soon...he should have a rehab assignment next week.

If Cards are in contention, his return will be an enormous boost (almost like a mid-season trade).

Carpenter is pitching a single A rehab game today. Mulder pitched yesterday for the same team. My son is on their team.

Also...

Mark Mulder makes a start today in extended spring training...

He should be back in May.

What that means is anyone's guess...Mulder claims that he is now able to get his arm in the correct slot. Will be interesting to see what Mulder can do.

I've heard Carpenter would be out until July or August, but if he is already making rehab starts, shouldnt he be back by the end of may at the latest?

I am not sure about Carpenter making rehab starts...

No mention of it by any of the Cardinal insiders...and it is not in today's paper either.

They also stated that Mulder was starting a game today...not yesterday...so some confusion here.

I was just assuming this was true.
