This guy is a disaster. He always has a Nash on the bench at the same time, every game, no matter who they play. Why? What is that shit? What coach does that?

Phoenix has no idea how to close out a game either on the winning or losing side. They suck at that, plain and simple. Who do you blame? It is DANTONIO.

I could coach a team better then that ass to close out a game. I have seen D'antonio let the clock run out when his team was down 5 with 15 seconds. Today, he let it run out 7 with 15 seconds left. I guess these guys do not remember REGGIE MILLER AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN!

D'Antonio goes 7 minutes at home and scores 2 points? How the fucck do these people get these jobs? How do you not have a drawn up plan coming out of timeouts with all that offensive talent?

Let me hope Dantonio...First, when you are in a 2 minute funk just keep feeding the ball to Stoudamire, he either gets fouled or gets deep inside. Just keep pounding it inside. Dantonio has no idea who the Fuuck is even on his roster. Clueless piece of crap.

Wrong, sucks you lost your bet, but completely wrong. His innovative coaching style turned that entire franchise around. He also never gives up down 5 with 15 seconds left, so don't make shit up. 7 is the common number as to when teams pull the plug as it is three possessions. This is common knowledge and the reason 7 is the most key number in the NBA, although I also believe two is very important.

Wrong RoyalFan: WRONG:

I will bet you whatever you want that Dantonio did this one game. Phoenix was down 3 with 28 seconds to go. He chose not to foul, but play defense. He Hoped for the rebound, AND score a three pointer with 4 seconds to go. THAT IS SHIT COACHING. THAT IS DOGSHIT COACHING. This was not today, this was 1 month ago.

AND ROYALFAN, YOU MUST NOT HAVE BEEN OLD ENOUGH TO WATCH THE KNICK INDIANA REGGIE MILLER GAME. REGGIE SCORED 8 POINTS IN 7 SECONDS. BUT YEAH, YOU ARE RIGHT 7 POINTS IS THE MAGIC NUMBER, JUST QUIT, DONT FOUL....YOU ARE CLUELESS.

Completely different. Pacers had the ball and it was a playoff game. Reggie my favorite player of all time. Remember it well. The situation you described, is not the one you described earlier being down 5 with 15 seconds left. Don't lie and make ship up, makes you look stupid. If you don't understand the importance of the number 7 in the NBA, you should not be betting, simple as that. I will bet you any amount you want that he didn't let the clock run out intentionally down 5 with 15 seconds left. Yeah didn't think so because they don't do that. Nice try though.

The real problem was The Suns made three of 19 shots in the final period and were outscored 27-9 in the 4th quarter to blow a 13 point 4th quarter lead.

The game ended when Suns Raja Bell missed a 3 pointer with 18 seconds to go and the score at 105-98. Josh Howard rebounded the ball with 15 seconds left and the Mavs ran out the clock from there.

Had the Suns fouled Howard he would have had two free throws with less than 15 seconds to play and a 7 point lead. Howard an 81% free throw shooter was a favorite to make at least one if not both freebies and give the Mavs an eight or nine point lead inside of 15 seconds. Pretty much, Reggie Miller or not, a closed case, especially when the losing team was 3 for 19 from the floor in the period.

From Sportsline.com Play by Play page for that game.

18.0 105-98 PHO Raja Bell missed 3-pt. Jump Shot
15.0 DAL Defensive Rebound by Josh Howard
0.0 End of period.

The Suns were as dismal as a team can be during that 4th quarter and the Mavs played as good a quarter of basketball as they have all season. Dirk Nowitski himself outscored the Suns 12-9 in the 4th quarter.

The real culprits were the Suns players, Amare Stoudemire had 31 points for the Suns but missed three of four free throws down the stretch. Steve Nash had 14 points and 10 assists, but shot only 4-of-17 from the field. He was 1-for-9 in the second half, 0-for-6 in the fourth quarter. He also had five turnovers.

The loss broke a seven game Suns home winning streak.

I remember the good ole days when 'fixes' and/or 'bad shooting' were the reasoning behind a 9 pt 4th quarter.

Times they are a changing.
