I think Hoffman is done

He was a great one.

Heath Bell should be the closer, Hoffman was finished last season.

Padres blow 1st and third 1 out, now Hoffman pitches terrible in the 9th.

After Corpas blew a game earlier.

I cant win a damn game.

I saw Andruw was hitless in that game, it's never too early to predict his season long slump. Don't get me wrong, I love the guy to death. He should be on the centerfield wall at The Ted after he retires, but two season worth of that sub 250 hitting really sucked.

He is 40 and clearly his best yrs are behind him. However, it's hard to be overrated when you are the ALL-TIME LEADER at what you do. Would be like saying Pete Rose was an overrated hitter.

Unlike Pete what has Trevor ever accomplished other than choking when they needed him most.

As for Hoffman I think hes just another Lee Smith which accumulated all these meaningless saves and was overblown by the media.

Do I respect him and think that he was a great pitcher yes. Is he the best or in the Top 3 of all time as most of the talking heads make him out to be, no.

JMHO
