Joe Borowski.....to name one. Seriously, there are about 4-5 guys in this league that have no business closing games anymore & he is one. A walk off grand slam after your team scores 3 to take a 2 run lead in the top of the 9th. All you gotta do is toss the ball over the dish and you walk two guys before giving up a slam!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are without a doubt some young flame throwers who can come in and close out these games instead of thes old ass fat sons of a bitches.

Dont get me wrong some of thes go my way some dont......all Im saying is that these managers need to grow a pair and do whats best for their team to win. Old fat guys as closers are not the answer. Hell, old guys in general.

He had Gary Matthews 1-2 and walked him on a 3-2 slider in the dirt...a slider, on 3-2 with Vlad on deck...really? Vlad hits a line drive on the first pitch. He then walks Garrett Anderson on 4 pitches and concludes his night with a hanging slider, right down the middle, to Torri Hunter. :ohno:

Closers have to be allowed to fail sometimes. Failing is a big part of baseball from the 1st inning on.

Agreed, but 4-5 with a 5.07 ERA last season and a skyrocketing ERA this year is more than sometimes. Christ he is 36 years old with piss poor numbers. Like I said find some 25 year old flame thrower to do the job.....cant do much worse.

He's horrible, but you knew that before the game started.

Also, as a veteran, thes Walks are totally inexcusable. If guys hit you and beat you sometimes, then fine. But to walk two guys after 1 out with a 2-run lead is unexcusable IMO.

can only trust K-rod, Saito, Papelbon, Isringhausen

1st guy got rake'd tonight...

I would add Jenks to this list...the big guy has been terrific so far this year...and has 81 saves over the last couple seasons.

I still feel pretty safe with my money on the line and Rivera on the bump.

Saito is the the most underrated closer in the league that many have not heard about.
