I dont know how you can go into the year with Gagne as your closer. 3-4 years ago, yes, now, no way in hell.

Yost seems to have gotten the bad end of this deal...

LY he rides his horse Cordero,...one of the main reasons the Brewers had such a good year.

Then Doug Melvin decides to let Cordero go and signs Gagne to replace him. :aktion033

Yost is screwed here...could end up costing him his job.

Gagne is making 6million this year...Cordero 5.4mill. But it is always the manager that falls on the sword...while the GM stays fat happy.

Don't worry guys. I'm on the Reds tonight and I haven't won a game yet

NYY - Loss
ATL - Loss
TB - Loss
TOR - Loss

Give it some time and my Reds ML wager will be a LOSS

Oh, and LAA, surely they'll do something stupid later.........:103631605

Actually Gagne is making 10 mil this year, could earn another 1 mil in incentives.

Not sure how Cordero's deal is structured year by year, but he is making 46 mil over 4 years, so it works out to 11.5 mil per year.

Brewers offered Cordero 42 mil over 4 years, Red offered him 46 over 4 years and he took it without giving the Brewers a chance to make a counteroffer.

I was glad he walked for that price, no way he has 4 good years left in the tank. Still would rather pay Gagne 10 mil for 1 year than Cordero 42 mil for 4 years...

Why pay Gagne 10 million? Were there other teams lined up to sign him at 9 mil? The guy is worth about 2 million a year in my book.

Thanks for the correct info...I went with the salaries listed under the profiles on sportsline. They were a little off to say the least.
