#11 of 19.

The world's top-ranked golfer owned a six-shot lead going into the final day at Augusta. But in a round that would unfortunately define his career, the Shark carded five bogeys and two double bogeys for a six-over 78, with Nick Faldo shooting 67 to win by five shots. "I made a lot of mistakes today," Norman said in his mea culpa afterward. "I put all the blame on myself. You pay the price. That's all there is to it."

They rate Buchner's play as the most over rated in sports but then have him mentioned in the collapse article.

I enjoyed the link though thanks for sharing. Forgot about Shark.

How about the 1979 World Series when Baltimore blew a 3 -1 lead in the World Series to the "We Are Family" Pittsburgh Pirates lead by Willie Stargell Homerun in Game 7.

'51 Dodgers. Lost a 13.5 game lead in late July or early August. Major Winchester (MASH) lost a bundle on that one!

how about my last 10 bets, Memphis was my only basketball bet that I did not have a double digit lead going into the final 6 minutes. all others i had double digit leads and lost.

As I was watching memphis, i said to myelf if these fuckers blow it, some motherfucker put a fucking curse on me. I'm currently on my way to New Orleans on a Greyhound. A voodo queen said that for five grand she'd rid me of any curse. I told her to front me the cure, and if she is successful, id give her all the winners she could handle. she said sure but i got to bring her the heart of a baby bat...

The Byron Leftwich game. If it meant anything, it would be on the list.

Makes ESPN Classic rounds every now and then.

1940 Cleveland Indians - Lost to Detroit in the final week with Bob Feller, 27-11 that year and greatest pitcher of the era, losing to an obscure pitcher from Appalachia Floyd Gibell who only won 2 major league games in his career in the most critical game!
