Sox Fan Buries Cursed Shirt At New Yankee Stadium
NEW YORK (WBZ) ― A crafty Red Sox fan working construction on the new Yankee Stadium has tried his best to sabotage future seasons for the team from New York. The die hard member of Red Sox Nation reportedly buried a Red Sox jersey under the visiting team's clubhouse. At least that's the story being told to the New York Post.

According to two construction workers who spilled the beans to the Post, the deceitful feat happened back in August, while concrete was being poured for the clubhouse floor. Now those workers fear they witnessed a curse being cast on their Yankees.

The Yankees' take on the story? They're calling it all a scam. In a statement released Friday the team said, "We noticed that the NY Post wrote a fun and interesting story about a t-shirt today - but it never happened. Yankee fans know that burying something in concrete in the basement is never a good thing. Memo to the Post: You're 10 days late for April Fool's Day."

So who's telling the truth? You be the judge.

Yankee Stadium certainly wouldn't be the first 'cursed' stadium in baseball.

Wrigley Field in Chicago has the curse of the Billy goat, a hex placed on the team by a fan who wasn't allowed to bring his pet goat to a game.

In Tampa, the team's new stadium was built partially over a cemetery.

Damn I wish they gave more details on the jersey itself. So we could give the curse a player name.

Or maybe we just go with "the shirt curse"

"The ever creative Post reported today that some Boston fan threw a Red Sox t-shirt into the concrete at the New Stadium. Somehow, this would curse the place. Sure thing.

Anyway, the Yankees say it’s not true and they actually had Howard Rubenstein’s office release a statement.

“We noticed that the NY Post wrote a fun and interesting story about a t-shirt today — but it never happened,” it said. “Yankee fans know that burying something in concrete in the basement is never a good thing. Memo to the Post: You’re 10 days late for April Fool’s Day.”

Yankee fans know that burying something in concrete in the basement is never a good thing? What does that mean?

At any rate, make of this what you will."

Now the Yankees will forever be on top of the Red Sox, in the standings and in the stadium.

Well, not really, but it seemed like the obvious play on words for New Yawk faithful.

"Trost said the Yankees had discussed possible criminal charges against Castignoli with the district attorney's office.

"We will take appropriate action since fortunately we do know the name of the individual," he said."

more to the story.

the jersey was Big Papi's, who started the season mired in a 3 for 42 slump (0.73).

so maybe they were jinxing Papi...... they dug it up, he is currently 1 for 1 tonight........... see if he takes off, now that his jersey is no longer buried in the new yankee stadium.

also what about the hawk that attacked the little girl, who was touring fenway with her classmates.............. she was the only one attacked and no, she was not wearing yankee gear but her name was and this is the truth............ Alexandra Rodriguez and her friends call her "Arod"....... true story.
