MistaFlava's 2008 MLB Record: 3-5 (-1.78 Units)

Welcome all to another season of bases. I had a great record last season but do not have time to get into writeups and analysis until a few weeks from now when CBB is done for good. So until the CBB season is done I will be posting plays only with no explanation.

Enjoy the games and good luck this season!

-------------------------------------------------

Saturday, April 12

1. Chicago White Sox +121 (1 Unit)
  • In his last four starts versus Detroit, Gavin Floyd has allowed only 5 ER's on 25 hits with 16 strikeouts in 25 innings of work. Career wise the White Sox are 4-1 when Floyd starts against the Tigers.
  • Justin Verlander sucks against AL Central opponents and the Tigers are 1-6 in his last seven starts versus this division.

2. New York Mets -140 (1 Unit)
  • In five career starts versus the Milwaukee Johan Santana has allowed only 12 ER's and 23 hits in 35 innings of work and struckout a whopping 49 batters.
  • In his only Shea Stadium career start, Ben Sheets allowed 5 ER's on 11 hits in a 5-1 loss.

3. Cincinnati Reds +110 (1 Unit)
  • In three career starts in Pittsburgh, Bronson Arroyo does not have a win here but he has allowed only 8 ER's on 22 hits with 13 strikeouts in 19 innings of work. He deserve a win here.
  • In his last two home starts against the Reds, Ian Snell was shelled for 13 ER's on 20 hits in only 10.1 innings of work in 13-4 and 8-0 losses.

Sheets beat the mets last year 12-3

The stats sheet I am using says Sheets has started only one game at Shea but they have it upside down. He has started about 4-5 times at Shea and yes he did beat them 12-3 last year but that was with Pelfrey on the mound for the Mets.

Santana's Shea debut should be a good one. My bad on the incorrect info...

Ben Sheets at Shea Stadium:

  • 5 starts (Brewers 3-2 in those starts)
  • 16 ER's on 34 hits
  • 19 strikeouts
  • 29.2 innings of work
Despite the decent pitching that's not anywhere as good as it needs to be to beat Santana in his home debut.

With you on the White Sox, but on the other side with the Brewers.

No Reyes today for the Mets.

Since providing false information on past performance can only be damaging (doesn't help the poster or the people that may follow) I will try to add more accuracy to this thread.

MistaFlava's record on posted plays this year at the time of this post was
3-6 -6.39 Units.

Last season was far from a "great record". In actuality his performance last season resulted in his actual ROI normalized and raw were actually worse than the negative vig ROI.
