Coming off one more winning day Saturday, helped by the A's +195 dog win. I broke the PLUS FIFTY UNIT MARK, the highest this season, in just 10 days. Just two Sunday plays for now.

i was just wondering if you ever give a breakdown of why your picks are what they are?

Best to first tell you what they aren't. Stat's and numbers they aren't. I don't care who is pitching, in fact sometimes I don't even look to see who is pitching.

In baseball, more than other sports because they play almost every day, teams have their ups and downs. I'm trying to find teams that are playing well and teams that are in a slump. That's it, but it's not as easy as just playing winning and losing streaks. It's the little things I look for like how many errors each team made the two or three games before. I look at the history they have playing each other, stuff like that. It's best when teams are playing so poorly or so well, anyone can see it. Like Detroit or like Florida or Arizona, although not Florida after today. My best plays, of course, are when a hot team is playing a slumping team and the line favors the slumping team.

The most important thing for me is to pass when I would have to lay more than -120. Hope this helps. Funny you should ask on my worst day this season. I cut back to just two games because it is Sunday and I got bit anyway.

Not everyone uses the same amount for their units, although I think $100 a unit, which is what I use, is the most common. So, in my case, 5 times 100 makes my plays $500 plays. Other guys, with almost all of their plays $100 plays, only risk one unit at a time if their units are $100 each.

I might have confused things when I didn't say what I meant by a $100 player. I didn't mean a $100 a unit player risking 5 units. I meant a player who only risks $100 each on these plays. That could be just one $100 unit or it could be 5 units for someone whose units are $20 each.

Today I lost 10.25 units or $1,025 on my two plays. A $100 player, risking just one unit a play, lost $205 on my two plays.

Because the aren't. Last Sunday, all my plays were for 3 units each. As my bankroll continues to grow (hopefully) I'll probally play a few games for more than 5 units. Last year I played some games for 7 and 10 units and two games for 15 units each, but for the most part, over 90% of my plays are 5 unit plays. The way today went, I should have played for just one unit.

Back to Losing Sundays

I hate Sundays. Last Sunday I cut all my plays back to just 3 unit plays because I have a hard time winning on Sundays. So what happened. I sweep and go 4-0 last Sunday but won less from cutting the size of my plays back. So I felt better about today and played for 5 units again, but only played two games to keep any losses small, just in case. Good thing because I lost both games today for my worst day this season.
